Giselle simply couldn’t wait anymore. She had no idea how many times she had glanced at the clock on her hand. Their meeting time should have taken place ten minutes ago. I don’t even know how many messages Giselle had sent just to ask, “Where are you already?”
But there was not a single reply.
Until…
“Hi, Giselle!” Harvey waved excitedly. The white Porche with the latest license plate, the roof opened wide, and the interior inside characterized that the white car was still smooth without any defects. “Long time no see.”
Giselle quickly got up from the waiting sofa in the lobby of her apartment. She looked at Harvey with a look of disbelief but then grinned widely. “You’re showing off, huh?”
“Why show off?” Harvey ruffled his long hair. “This has been my dream car for a long time. Don’t we need a vehicle?”
Giselle rolled her eyes in annoyance. “I thought Nico drove us and followed us wherever we were going today.”
“Um…” Harvey looked thoughtful. “This car has a GPS that Justin and Nico can access. I don’t think they need to follow us, right?” That’s right. Justin had asked the showroom to expand the GPS coverage and access in the car Harvey was driving. Despite the protests, Justin was still Justin.
She said, “I don’t know what kind of craziness you’re up to out there, Harvey. But at least I knew your position immediately without having to go to the police.”
“You think I’d put myself in danger?” asked Harvey with his hands crossed. His eyes looked at Justin with a look of distaste. “I don’t agree with you having access to the GPS.”
“In that case, let’s stop the transaction. Or… you pay the car bill yourself.”
“Justin!!!”
Ah, remembering that conversation made Harvey feel annoyed and irritated again. Justin had really gone too far.
“Isn’t that the same thing?” Giselle chuckled in disbelief.
“I don’t want to hear much of Justin’s chatter. I didn’t realize that guy was as annoying as an old lady. Oh, my God! Why do I have to work with a guy like that, anyway?” Harvey quickly opened the door. Letting Giselle in and sitting comfortably. “Should I close it?”
“Unless you want your face on a social media page with the caption ‘Famous model, Harvey Princessa rides in this year’s elegant and latest new car.”
Harvey laughed until he felt sick to his stomach. The corners of his eyes were wet from the laughter he created while his best friend just chuckled with an annoyed face.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
“But it’s quite an interesting idea. I’m tired of news about my activities and achievements under SEO.”
“What do you want anyway?” Giselle pressed the button to close the roof before they actually left the lobby. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to enjoy the beautiful day, but the pollution and fumes that would hit them in the face weren’t good things to enjoy. After all, Harvey didn’t matter when Giselle pressed the button just now.
“If it’s a scandal involving my name, I’m sure the uproar won’t just be SEO, but the whole country.”
Harvey laughed again. He started the engine and prepared to leave the lobby area. “But that’s good, right? I can target all lines and well… I’ve achieved my goal.”
“You’re crazy.”
“At least I’m crazy with my own pace.”
Giselle could only shake her head briefly. “Just don’t make Justin too much of a burden.”
“No,” Harvey said immediately. “I know my limits, Giselle, if that’s what you’re worried about. I burn myself, I don’t want anyone else to participate except the people I want them to feel what I feel.”
Giselle smiled slightly, rubbing Harvey’s arm in support. “Maybe when that time comes, when everyone reviles and shuns you, believe me, I won’t leave your side, Harvey. You’re my friend.”
“You’re the best.” Harvey smiled cheerfully. “Speaking of scandals, did you know about Andrew’s wedding?”
“Yes.” Giselle sat back comfortably. “I forgot to attend the event. You know, my schedule at Masshacutes coincided with Andrew’s event.”
“I’m the same.”
“Didn’t you… go home first?”
“No.”
Giselle gave Harvey a longer look. “Is Justin keeping us busy on purpose?”
“I don’t know. I haven’t seen the boss in two weeks. He’s busy, that’s what I hear from Irena. Preparing for the boutique opening that’s coming up.”
Giselle nodded in understanding.
“You yourself, have you contacted Andrew?”
Giselle was silent for a long time until finally, Harvey spoke up again. “I’m sure you haven’t contacted her at all.”
“What should I ask? Why did you run away from the altar? Is that so?”
Harvey laughed at Giselle’s words. “At the very least, what you need to ask about is news. From what you said about Andrew, I don’t think it was easy to leave the altar. Especially when his replacement is Fania’s own lover. You know, both Langham and Kingston are outraged by the marriage, but if their marriage doesn’t take place, it’s far more shameful than bearing witness to their love.”
“Fania really has guts,” said Giselle.
“Yeah, you’re right.” Harvey steered the car onto the freeway. “I didn’t expect a girl like Fania to take such a bold action either.” He grinned. “I give her two thumbs up.”
Giselle was silent.
“You didn’t contact Andrew at all?” Harvey asked once again. Besides being curious, he also needed to know something. What Giselle had done after the news of the wedding broke. How could it not be? The wedding, which was attended by many officials and people with interests in business and government, witnessed a bond that was originally not approved, finally ended without much debate.
Perhaps if they had continued to use their egos, we can’t imagine how embarrassing and awkward the marriage would have been.
“No.” Giselle glanced at Harvey somewhat suspiciously. “Why is that? What’s wrong? I haven’t communicated in a while.”
That got a long sigh from Harvey. “I heard from one of The Collage’s cameramen, you know Andy?”
“Yes, I know that guy,” Giselle snapped immediately. after all, she was a bit curious about Andrew. but didn’t have the courage to just send a message asking how he was doing or about the wedding that he as the groom didn’t attend.
“Andy said that since the wedding day, Andrew’s whereabouts have been unknown.”
Giselle was silent, staring at Harvey without blinking.
“I don’t know if it has to do with a father being betrayed by his son, or if it’s Andrew who chose to step aside.”
“Then the job?”
Harvey chuckled. “You forget, The Collage is still owned by his father. Andrew was asked to carry on but that doesn’t mean it was handed over.”
“I see.” Giselle looked uneasy. “So… what happened with Andrew?”
“How would I know!” snapped Harvey. “Why don’t you find out, you still have the number, right?”
Giselle hesitated to reach for the cell phone in her bag. “Wouldn’t it be awkward if I called him? After all this time?”
Harvey shrugged. “That’s up to you. Obviously, I can only tell you if Andrew is missing. The rest is up to you. I have nothing to do with your relationship. Just a suggestion, if you consider Andrew a friend, ask him how he’s doing. We never know what’s really going on, do we?”
