Chapter 890
Chapter 890 Inside the Cave
On that morning, Ben and Anna were sent away by helicopter.
Their sudden departure caught the attention of the group in the cave, who briefly observed the situation to ensure that Charlotte, Joe, and the others were still present. Satisfied that they were, they didn't pay much attention to it.
Charlotte, Joe, and the rest of the group acted as if they were completely unaware and didn't show any signs of suspicion.
It wasn't until deep into the night, when all the staff had finished work and were asleep, that they quietly left their respective rooms.
They hadn't informed the staff about the cave incident since there were many people among them, and they didn't know if there were any spies from the other side.
"Are you sure no one noticed us?" Charlotte asked, looking around with a furrowed brow.
"Don't worry. To ensure they sleep soundly, I added a little something to their meals," Mandy said with a smile.
With that assurance, everyone's concerns disappeared.
Several of them returned to the outskirts of the forest, watching as Sharon released three mechanical bees.
The darkness of the night was the perfect disguise for the mechanical bees. Not only would the people in the cave not notice them, but even if Charlotte and the others saw the bees fly away, they wouldn't be able to track their movements after a moment.
Sharon cast another resentful glance at Joe, wondering why Ben, such a good child, wasn't his son.
The mechanical bees silently traversed the woods and arrived at the entrance of the cave illuminated by firelight.
The bee's perspective was displayed on everyone's phones through the app.
Charlotte keenly noticed that the people guarding the cave entrance today seemed to be different from the ones yesterday.
"How many of them have come?" Sharon frowned and muttered, "Do they really think this is their own territory?"
Taking advantage of the distraction caused by the few individuals guarding the cave entrance chatting, Sharon successfully flew the mechanical bees into the cave.
The mechanical bees navigated through the dimly lit tunnel. Suddenly, the narrow passageway opened up to reveal a group of laborers working with stern expressions.
The cave was roughly about forty to fifty meters high and two to three hundred meters wide, with a winding tunnel leading deeper down. Sharon temporarily refrained from sending the bees further down.
About seven or eight strong-built men were working above, each holding an iron pickaxe and continuously digging downwards.
Not far from them, a man carrying a gun was vigilantly watching them. If anyone tried to take a break, he would aim his gun at them, leaving no room for slacking off.
"These people are ruthless," Jack commented, frowning as he observed the scene.
However, Sharon chuckled coldly, "This is just the beginning. Once these people are useless and discover such a huge secret..."NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
He hadn't finished his words, but everyone present felt uneasy.
It was common knowledge that only dead people could truly keep secrets.
"Continue going down," Joe furrowed his brow and said in a deep voice.
Sharon nodded in silence and continued to control the mechanical bees to descend.
However, just as it was about to enter the tunnel leading further down, a man who was mining suddenly walked over and accidentally bumped into the mechanical bee.
Although the mechanical bee wasn't very attention-grabbing, it was still noticeable if someone happened to come into contact with it.
The man looked at the mechanical bee he had accidentally bumped into, his eyebrows furrowing in surprise.
Watching the man who now occupied the screen, Charlotte instinctively held her breath.
Once this mechanical bee was discovered, they wouldn't be able to keep the secret of the cave hidden any longer.
