Firework 11
Five days after my quarrel with Jared, that brought Thomas into it too, Mr. Morse had returned, so he invited Thomas to a dinner as a thank you. He also asked me to come, as a result we chatted happily with Mr. Morse and his wife, most of it was about Thomas and I’s nostalgic story in Promise High. The next day, Thomas prepared to leave and said goodbye, “I might not be able to drop by Promise High often after this, but you should still call me if you need anything, okay?”
I nodded and smiled, replying calmly, “Sure.”
Then I added, “Oh, right, Thomas. Please don’t tell me Jared’s schedule anymore. I don’t want to know.” Ever since Thomas had started substituting for Mr. Morse at the academy, I had felt like something was missing. Apparently, it was Jared’s daily schedule.
But, in truth, I was grateful not to know anything about him for the past two weeks. It felt as if the burdens of my life were slowly lifting, one by one. So, I came to a realization that I really didn’t want to hear anything more about him.
“Alright, I’ll just tell you the important stuff,” Thomas said.
I shook my head. “No, there’s no need. Just let me know if you want to go to the Night Market with me again, okay?”
“Definitely. Well, I’ll be off then. See you later.”
After that, I returned to the dorm, hoping to enjoy the peace of the weekend. But that peace was short–lived. That night, George, who had been out of my life for a while, reached out to me through a
mind–link.

I ignored him, thinking it was just another one of their usual tricks.
It wasn‘ t the first time actually. Every time Jared and I had a falling out, he would use various tactics to persuade me. In the past, I would have run to Jared, worrying about his every condition. But that night, I did not care anymore.
However, to my surprise, George was waiting for me at the

“Olivia, could you go see Jared? He’s in the hospital.”
“Is that my concern?” I replied indifferently.
the next morning. As I walked in, he
George hesitated, searching for the right words. “I used to think Jared didn’t care for you, but ever since his visit to Promise High, he’s been drinking himself to oblivion every night. Last night, he finally collapsed.”
I let out a cold, mocking laugh. Was he seriously trying to guilt–trip me over Jared’s lack of
self–control?
“I don’t care about trivial things like that. If you’ll excuse me, I need to get my teaching materials,”
I said dismissively.
Jason hurried after me while still trying to convince me and begged, “Olivia, I’m begging you, just go to the hospital and see Jared. You know he has a stomach condition. What’s more, he has been drinking too much and hasn’t been eating properly for days.
As his Beta, I can’t let him continue like this. He was rushed to the hospital last night with a stomach bleed, and he’s been calling your name all night.”
It was utterly laughable. The lie was the same as always.
Yet, I still wondered how I had fallen for it before and gone to see Jared last time. Miraculously, we even made up that time.
How foolish I was.
“Aren’t you the one who thought your twin was the perfect match for him? This is your chance to play matchmaker,” I snapped back.
Jason continued to try and convince me, apologizing profusely, but I turned a deaf ear. Eventually, he sighed, defeated.
“Fine, I’ll text you the room details. Go if you want, but just know Jared is waiting for you.”
He left, and I went into the office, ignoring him.
I actually had no intention of visiting Jared, but Serena kept nagging at me all day, making it impossible to focus on my teaching.
“Ugh, fine, I’ll visit him. Stop grumbling in my mind,” I finally said to Serena.
When I arrived at the hospital and was about to speak to a nurse, George spotted me in the lobby. So,
he came to meet me.
“Olivia, you came! Come on, I’ll take you to Jared’s room,” he said, his face lighting up with relief.
I sighed and followed him quietly, not wanting to cause a scene in the hospital.
However, when George opened the door to Jared’s room, I saw Georgia sleeping beside Jared.
