Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan)

Chapter 23

Chapter 23

Soon Morrison arrived and called Magdalen to ask which room she was in.

Estelle got up and said, “You guys talk, I’m gonna head out first.”

Magdalen frowned, “I took you out, naturally I should take you back, you and Morrison know each © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

other, why are you leaving?”

“Don’t wanna stay and be a third wheel, do I?” Estelle winked and chuckled, “And besides, you’ve been

drinking, how are you supposed to drive me? It’s all good, I’ll catch a cab.”

Magdalen reluctantly agreed, “Well, call me when you get home.”

“Sure thing!”

Magdalen walked Estelle to the door, only to run into Morrison who was hurrying over in the hallway.

The guy was dressed in a business suit with a hint of alcohol on him, seemingly just coming from a

social engagement. He had a refined, handsome face and wore a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, greeting

Estelle politely.

He walked over to Magdalen and naturally held her hand.

Estelle said goodbye to the two and went out the door on her own. A waiter at the door asked her if

there was anything she needed.

Just as Estelle was about to speak, she saw a group of people surrounding Jonathan as they walked

out. She politely declined the waiter’s help and stood by Jonathan’s car, waiting for the group to leave

before turning around and gently calling out, “Mr. Lamont!”

Jonathan turned around, his dark eyes seemingly deep as night, lightly watching her, “Done with

dinner?” “Yep!” Estelle nodded and said, “Thanks for everything today, Mr. Lamont.”

Jonathan put his hands in his pockets, tall and handsome as ever, “No need to thank me, we’re just

helping each other out.”

“Ah?” Estelle was a bit confused, how did she help him?

“Never mind.” Jonathan replied leisurely,” Manley told me you agreed to be his girlfriend, is that true?”

Estelle showed a surprised and speechless expression, “He told you that?”

“Yes.”

Estelle laughed in disbelief, “He’s doing it on purpose to retaliate against me.”

Jonathan raised an eyebrow, “What happened?”

Estelle briefly told him about how Manley had someone bother her earlier, but she exposed him and

then beat him up.

The bright lights from the roadside reflected in Jonathan’s dark eyes, full of ripples. He listened to

Estelle’s words, first showing a bit of surprise, then the corners of his mouth hooked up into a smile.

After a while, he calmly nodded, “Good job!”

Estelle smiled, her beautiful eyes bright and lively, her lips moist. Under the lights, her features seemed

more alive.

Jonathan averted his gaze, looking behind her, “Are you alone? I can drive you home.”

#Thank you but it’s not necessary!” Estelle politely declined, “My friend is coming to pick me up, they’ll

be here

soon. You should go ahead, Mr. Lamont.”

Jonathan said nothing more, turned around and got into his car.

Watching Jonathan’s car merge into the traffic, Estelle slowly walked to the side of the road.

Sitting in a taxi, Estelle suddenly realized that her relationship with Jonathan seemed to have improved

a lot, probably because Jonathan didn’t like Manley either, so in dealing with Manley, both of them

aimed at the same thing and naturally they were on the same battlefront.

Estelle looked out the car window at the colorful neon lights, thinking about Heather and Hattie If

Heather and Morrison were fake, then what about Hattie?

Was she really Jonathan’s lover?

Magdalen, as Morrison’s girlfriend, could openly hold Morrison accountable, while she, as Jonathan’s

wife, had to politely thank Jonathan!

Oh, shoot!

She really was a failed wife!
