Divorcing

Chapter 31

Chapter 31: My Wife

In the office, Michael pinned Chloe down, his broad hand gripping her thigh as he made her straddle his waist.

His searing heat was about to scorch her.

Chloe pressed against his chest, her body burning with heat.

“Imagine if people found out that the usually stoic captain was now burning with desire. They’d be shocked, wouldn’t they?”

Chloe had no clue what Michael was up to.

Even in his wildest moments, he watched her with clear eyes.

It was like Chloe was the one groveling, while Michael, even in bed, treated her with haughty charity.

But today, his eyes told a different story.

Chloe straddled Michael’s lap, feeling the unmistakable evidence of his desire beneath her.

He took her hand, gently rubbing it. His eyes sparkled like they held the stars.

When Michael gazed at Chloe, she couldn’t help but feel a ridiculous flicker of being loved.

Michael whispered, “As my wife, don’t you know why I’m like this?

He thought, “She never comes home. What am I supposed to do?”

Chloe almost blurted out, “You could go find Lucy.”

Luckily, she held back and swallowed her words.

Chloe thought, “Today’s the day I win him over.”

“He doesn’t want me to call him out for cheating, so I’ll just play dumb.”

Chloe squirmed again and grinned, “Let’s have a chat.”

Unexpectedly, amidst the struggle, a shirt button popped off, revealing her chest and delicate skin.

Michael’s gaze turned intense, his Adam’s apple bobbing….

Just as he leaned in for the kiss, a faint noise came from outside the door.

Chloe had sharp ears and wasn’t genuinely interested in him, so she stayed on high alert.

Hearing the noise, she quickly got off him. She sat on the couch next to him, turning away to fix the button that had popped

open.

Just then, the office door swung open. Lucy, dressed in her business attire, walked in.

“Mike?”

“What’s up?”

Hearing Lucy’s voice, Chloe’s mood plummeted instantly.

“Why does it feel like I’m cheating when I’m not even divorced?” she wondered.

Chloe shot a secret glare at Michael.

In stark contrast to her anxiety and panic, Michael was calm, as if nothing had happened.

Lucy glanced at the two of them, her eyes clouded with mystery.

She wasn’t naive. The room’s charged atmosphere and Chloe sitting nearby, flustered and blushing, told her everything she needed to know.

Lucy glanced away from Chloe, feigning calmness as she turned her gaze to Michael.

“No worries. If I’m interrupting you and Chloe, I can come back later.” All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

Chloe struggled for ages to button that stubborn button.

Now, listening to Lucy, she felt utterly nauseated.

Chloe thought for a moment, then turned to Michael with a playful pout. “This is all your fault. I can’t button it up now. You have to take responsibility and help me.”

She shot a sidelong glance at Lucy standing across from her and let out a silent, cold laugh.

Chloe thought, “She’s not the only one who can be nasty. I can play that game too!”
