Chapter 25
“Hey baby, what happened to your car?” Jax asked.
“I have no idea.” Raine replied.
“Where’s it at?” Jax asked.
“Don’t worry, Sam took care of it. She had it towed to a mechanic she knows. Luckily, she was off today and picked me up. Otherwise, who knows how the hell long I would have been stranded on the side of the road!” Raine retorted.
“Sorry baby, I was in church and had left my phone in our room.” Jax explained.
“It’s fine, at least Sam was there for me.” Raine retorted making her meaning clear that he wasn’t.
The following week Raine went to taste cakes for the wedding cake. Jax had club business, so Sam and Kim went with her. They had a fun time that Raine was very much in need of. Things have been stressed with Angel always hanging around pulling her childish stunts.
“Well, everything is done. Dress, catering, cake, and flowers.” Raine sighed in relief.
“Two weeks to go. Are you getting nervous or excited?” Kim asked.
“I am nervous, but not about marrying Jax. I’m just nervous about whatever bullshit Angel will pull to ruin our wedding.” Raine replied.
“Don’t worry. That man loves you and he’ll make sure it happens no matter what.” Sam replied.
“I know he does. Any news on my car?” Raine asked.
“No not yet. They were pretty busy, but he swore he’d get to it as soon as he could.” Sam replied.
A couple of days later things really heat up. Raine was getting dressed. All her Victoria’s secret lingerie that Jax bought her was cut up. She put on a robe, grabbed a few pieces then stormed downstairs in hunt of Angel.
“You fucking petty ass bitch!” Raine yelled.
“What is your problem you psycho!” Angel retorted.
“You’ve gone too far this time bitch! I put up with the perfume and shampoo, but this, this is way too far! Cutting up my lingerie!” Raine shouted.
Angel smiled. “Your fat ass probably split them, then you’re trying to blame it on me.”
Raine hauled off and slapped her. It could be heard across the main room. All the brothers stopped and stared. Angel saw Jax coming their way and acted like the victim crying.
“Jaxton, she just attacked me for no reason! She’s crazy!” Angel cried.
“Raine? What the hell?” Jax asked.
“Are you serious right now?” Raine asked pissed off.
“I mean what the hell are you doing down here in just a robe?” Jax asked.
“Well, I was trying to get dressed, but some skank ass bitch cut up all my lingerie.” Raine retorted.
“Angel, did you do this?” Jax asked.
“Oh please, like she would admit to any of the shit she’s been pulling lately!” Raine huffed.
“Now how could I do that Jax? I don’t have a key to your room, how could I?” Angel asked.
“Baby she does have a point; we are the only ones with keys. You kept the door locked right?” He asked.
“Ok fine, I’ll play along. We are the only ones with keys. So that means either you cut up my lingerie or I did, right? So, did you?” Raine asked.
“Of course not. I just rip it off.” Jax smirked.
“So, by your reasoning, that means I had to do it right? For what purpose?” Raine asked.
“No that’s not what I’m saying.” Jax replied.
“Whatever. Just fucking forget it. Skank bitch got away with it again.” Raine retorted before storming off.
She vowed to cut Jax off from sex until she’s no longer pissed off. It may be a while. Later that night, Jax came to bed. He stripped naked and climbed into bed.
Raine was lying on her side facing away from him and as close to the edge as she could possibly get. He slid in behind her and wrapped one arm around her pulling her into his chest.
“I know you’re awake.” He whispered.
“I’m not in the mood. Goodnight, Jax!” Raine retorted.
“You’re still pissed?” Jax asked.
“Yeah, pissed and so disappointed in you. I thought you were supposed to always have my back? You let me down.” Raine replied.
Jax sighed. “It’s a difficult situation.”
“So, you say.” Raine retorted.
“Her dad died defending the club. She’s club responsibility.” Jax explained. “Fine. Let me ask you one question. And think before you speak.’ Raine replied.
“Ok.” Jax replied. “If she were a brother, and that brother was doing shit to another brother to get his old lady, what would the “club” do about it?” Raine asked.
“Fuuck!” Jax growled.
“That’s what I thought. Goodnight Jax!” Raine retorted.
Six days until the wedding. The dress boutique called and told Raine the altercations had been completed.
“Hey, want to come with me to try on my dress?” Raine asked.
“Absolutely!” Kim replied.
Raine and Kim got to the dress shop. They’re waiting for the sales lady to get her dress. They bring her dress out and unzip the cover.
“OH MY GOD!” Raine screamed.
“I don’t know what to say! I don’t even know how this happened!” The salesperson gasped.
“It was fine yesterday. After the alterations were done, I personally put it in the cover and hung it up with the other finished dresses. I am so sorry!” She replied.
Someone had poured blue dye down the front of the wedding dress.
“Does it have my name on it?” Raine asked.
“Yes of course. I’ll send this to the cleaner ASAP. At our cost of course. When’s the wedding?” The salesperson asked.
“This Saturday.” Raine replied. “Oh no. Maybe you should try on another dress just in case? I’ll make sure the alterations are done by then and I’ll lock it up.” She replied.
“I guess I have no choice.” Raine sighed.
She spent two hours looking and found a similar dress she liked. Her heart was not in it though. The ruined dress was her dream dress.
“I think we should check on all the other arrangements you made. Just to check there are no more problems.” Kim replied. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
“Yeah, I got a bad feeling about this.” Raine warned.
“Me too.” Kim agreed.
They went to the florist first.
“Welcome ladies. How may I help you?” The florist asked.
“I just wanted to check on my flowers I ordered for my wedding for this Saturday.” Raine explained.
“Sure. What name is the order under?” He asked.
“Raine Parker.” She replied.
“I received a call canceling that order.” He frowned.
“Well, I am Raine and I can promise you it was not me that called. My wedding is still happening this Saturday.” Raine replied. “Why else would I be here checking if everything is ready for Saturday?”
“Well thankfully I couldn’t cancel my order, so the flowers are still in route to me.” He replied. “So, you still want the order?”
“Yes definitely! And do me a favor, unless I personally come into your shop, don’t change my order at all.” Raine replied. “It’s probably a good idea to make sure you’re talking to the right person.”
“Sure, I can do that. And sorry for the mix up.” He replied.
