Chasing Back My Ex-wife

Chapter 50

Chapter 50

Troy's green eyes were wide open. "There are shoe prints on the chair. That b*tch ran away!"

"If you know she ran away, then why aren't you chasing after her?!" Ron turned around and ran outside. His belly fat didn't affect his speed at all.

Only then did Troy come to his senses and immediately caught up with him.

Two minutes after they left, a click came from the cabinet, and Lucy tumbled out with her face ghostly pale.

She was flexible enough to huddle up in the cabinet that was only big enough to hold a child. However, because of that, she had aggravated her wound and her leg was now covered with blood.

"She isn't here. Go check over there!"

"If I catch that b*tch, I'll beat her up so bad! I'll see if she dares to run away again!"

Their voices came from a distance through the window.

Lucy's heart pounded. She gritted her teeth and used all her strength to get up from the floor. First, she looked outside to gauge the situation. Then, when she saw that they had gone far away, she limped outside. NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.

If she remembered correctly, the car was parked nearby, and Troy had left the key in the ignition because he was lazy to bring it along!

She licked her cracked lips, ran to the car, and started the engine.

The roar of the engine caught Ron and Troy's attention. They ran after the car, cursing vilely.

Lucy acted as though she couldn't hear anything and drove along the only winding mountain road there was. As long as she left that place, she would be safe!

Unable to keep up, Ron and Troy rested their hands on their knees and cursed angrily. They looked like they had given up the chase.

Lucy watched them from the rearview mirror, and she felt as thought a weight had been lifted off her chest.

They had abandoned the other car on the way there, and she was driving the only car they had. They surely wouldn't be able to catch her!

However, before she could feel completely relieved, the car let out a screech and stopped!

"What's going on?" Lucy's expression changed. She pulled out the key and started the car again, but it still wouldn't budge.

Seeing Ron and Troy getting closer, she kept trying to start the car. Her heart nearly jumped out of her chest. "Come on, hurry up and go..."

"Still think you can run? In your dreams!" Troy yanked the door open and grabbed her hair fiercely. "You b*tch, how dare you run away!"

He dragged her out of the car, not letting go of her hair. He purposely kicked the injured part of her leg continuously.

Lucy shielded her head. The tearing pain from her scalp made her feel like passing out, but her brain told her that she must never faint.

The wound on her leg tore open, and it spasmed from the pain of the salt mixing with her blood. It hurt so terribly that her leg was almost numb.

She looked at the blood on the ground as Arthur's face flashed through her mind. Boundless hatred overwhelmed her!

He must be in the ward looking after Lizbeth, who had had a "heart attack", mustn't he?

Perhaps he hadn't even seen her missed calls, or maybe he had seen them but just ignored them!

Lucy was in pain all over, and she felt as though her hair was about to be ripped from her scalp. However, all that agony couldn't match up to the ache in her heart.

She hugged her knees tightly and felt as though her heart was being ripped from her chest. She suddenly laughed.

Although Arthur had treated her that way last time, and she had told herself countless times to forget him, she just couldn't forget that sc*mbag! How hopeless she was!

"Why the f*ck are you laughing, b*tch?!" Ron, who hadn't touched her since just now, kicked her on the

head. "If it wasn't because Troy's car was faulty, you'd really have gotten away! We treated you nicely, but you didn't appreciate it. So don't blame us for being violent!"

His kick landed on Lucy's temple and her head spun. The last thing she saw before passing out was the terrifying look on Ron's chubby face.

...

"Arthur, if something happens to Lucy this time, I won't forgive you!" At the police station, Kylah was pointing at Arthur. Her eyes were red-rimmed, probably because she had been crying.

She had only parted ways with Lucy so recently.

How could Lucy suddenly have gotten kidnapped?

Arthur was sitting down in silence, holding a cigarette between his fingers. The smoke blurred his face, but the stubble on his chin was still visible.

Only a few hours had passed, but he looked haggard and beaten. The ashtray in front of him was already full.

Chad had rushed back from the hospital. "Kylah, don't ask for trouble! Arthur's the most worried about Lucy. He didn't want Lucy to get kidnapped either, but even if he didn't want that, didn't those kidnappers still do it?"

"Bah!" Kylah spat. She pointed at Arthur with a mocking expression. "Him? The most worried? Chad,

are you blind? If he really is worried about Lucy, would he have abandoned her to go look for Lizbeth? If he hadn't left Lucy behind, would she have gotten kidnapped?"

"You're the one who's blind! How could Arthur not have went when Lizbeth said she was having a heart attack? Besides, didn't he turn around after that?" Chad felt like Kylah was being unreasonable.

They argued hotly.

To Kylah, Arthur was a heartless sc*mbag who deserved to go to hell!

On the other hand, Chad saw Kylah as nothing but an unreasonable woman who just wanted to blame everything on Arthur!

The other people at the police station were annoyed by the ruckus they were making, but no one dared to speak up because Kylah and Chad weren't ordinary people.

Besides, Arthur was right beside Chad and Kylah, but he hadn't said a word. It wouldn't be right for them to complain!

Arthur couldn't hear them at all. His mind was filled with thoughts of Lucy.

Images of her five years before and now being happy, sad, calm, tearful, and flirtatious flashed through his mind non-stop.

He glanced around, looking slightly lost. He couldn't tell whether he was five years in the past when Lucy's plane had crashed, or in the present, where she had been kidnapped.

"Arthur Johnson!" Kylah couldn't be bothered to argue with Chad anymore. She walked to the sofa angrily with red-rimmed eyes. "You always say you're oh-so powerful and oh-so mighty, but how come you have no news of Lucy?"

Arthur blew out smoke and snuffed out the cigarette that had burned to the filter. Then, he fished out his pack of cigarettes and took out a new one.

Kylah snatched the cigarette, ripped it to bits, and threw it in his face. "We don't know where Lucy is or how she's doing, and yet you're still here smoking non-stop. Do you even have a heart?!"

"You madwoman! If it wasn't for Lucy's sake, believe me when I say I'd kill you right now." Chad shoved her aside and hurriedly went to brush away the tobacco leaves on Arthur's face.

Arthur dodged Chad's hands, and when he spoke, his voice was very hoarse. "You're right. It's all my fault."

If he hadn't left Lucy alone, nothing would have happened to her!

"No sh*t it's all your fault!" Kylah widened her eyes, but tears still flowed. "Lucy only lived a peaceful life for five years, and those were the five years you weren't by her side! After meeting you, she got kidnapped!"
