Paxton’s POV

“This hideous wench, she’s got some nerves to call me an egotic bastard.

If I should descend on her with this rage in me, an ambulance might pick her corpse within the next five seconds.

Author’s POV

“Now pick your personal belongings from this office within the next one minute, get out and never return!!!!” He yelled and Sydney realized she was done for.

“Is this how I’m gonna lose a job I worked so hard for?” She asked herself as she dropped on her kneels and pleaded for mercy.

“I’m so sorry boss, I never meant to say such words, I let my frustration take control of me, please pardon me” she muttered every apologetically sounding word her brain could register at the moment.

Paxton was getting none of it.

“Don’t push me to the wall, I said get out you’re fired!!” He shouted again and tears streamed down Sydney’s cheeks as she hurried to grab his calf .

He kicked away like a sack of grain and she landed at am edge of the office as he walked towards the door.

“If I return here and sense your presence, I’ll let the security guards do their jobs!” He concluded before walking away.

Sydney bawled her eyes out dejectedly as she stared at his retreating figure before picking her bag and dragging her feet out of the office dejectedly.

She felt this was the end of the role for her as she walked out of the company dejected and boarded a taxi.

She kept crying in the car and the driver stared at her through the rearview mirror and decided to mind his business by continuously driving.

They arrived at her residence and she paid before stepping out and walking inside.

She felt the world has ended. She had no savings because her previous salaries were used to settle due bills.

She thought of what to do before it’s too late and pondered on going back to her former work and felt it will be like going from grass to grace and then vice versa.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

She decided not to go back to her previous work and decided to go on job hunting as soon as possible.

She regretted every bit of her over reaction and felt it was too late to cry over spilled milk as she entered her room and freshened up before retiring to bed as she didn’t have appetite for food.

She counted the ceilings before automatically drifting off to sleep.

The next morning*****

Sydney’s POV

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The sound of knocking resounded on the door to the entrance of my house as it jolted me out of my peaceful sleep.

“Who could that be?, Knocking on my door as early as 7am” I asked myself.

I stood up and picked a shawl before wrapping it around the part of my body exposer by my nighty as I stepped out to check who it was at the door.

I opened the door and halted in my tracks seeing Jaxton standing with his hands in his pocket staring at me with a funny looking kinda gaze.

He walked passed her and settled on her cushion, crossing his legs as she remained fixed on the point.

She finally jolted out of her reverie and walked towards him before taking her seat on the opposite couch.

“Good morning, why are you here and so early?” She asked, breaking the akward silence between them.

He stared at her and didn’t say a word.

“Did I speak Spanish?” She mumbled to herself and he chuckled at her doggedness.

They stared at each other awkwardly again till Jaxton finally broke the eerie silence.
