Chapter 21: Delivered to You Anytime Anywhere
Chapter 21: Delivered to You Anytime Anywhere
The little girl was wearing a cartoon pajamas and with a plush rabbit tucked in her arms, she was sitting
on the sofa in the living room while watching a cartoon.
At the sight of Charlotte, she jumped off the sofa and ran all the way to Charlotte, “I know you. You
helped me that day.”
When she met the little girl’s jet black and glistening eyes, Charlotte felt a reassuring sense of
familiarity.
“That’s me.” While she recalled that this girl was almost kidnapped by human traffickers, Charlotte
suddenly felt a pang of guilt, “I’m sorry that I have spooked you that day.”
The little girl shook her head.
“Don’t worry. I have thought about it and I know that you were trying to save me that day. You are not a
bad guy. I like you!” Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
“You like me?” Charlotte felt funny at her words.
With one of her shoes dangling from her hand, her heels were battered and frazzled. There were blots
of dirt on her dress and legs, and her hair and back were soaked all over by sweat. What was there to
like about the way she had looked that day?
“Yes, I like you. Besides, don’t you think that this part of our eyes look alike?” The little girl said with
bright eyes as she pointed at her eye bags happily.
Charlotte subconsciously smiled as she bent down, attempting to check out what this girl meant.
“Don’t touch her.” Lawrence’s cold voice pierced through the air.
He was done with his bath and there was a black bathing robe draped over him, with his chiselled
chest barely visible. The ties of the bath was dangling carelessly on his waist. He appeared to be
extremely eye-catching, but he was also cold at the same time.
This was especially true when he cast his gaze on Charlotte. A heavy and intense distant look hid a
sense of disgust and contempt. It felt like Charlotte touching his daughter was something unforgivable
with the way he looked now.
Charlotte felt something trip in her heart as she took back her hand. With her gaze lowered, she said
faintly, “Sorry.”
Lawrence swept his gaze over her expressionlessly, then he looked downwards at Emma, and his
voice turned soft.
“It’s getting late, Emma. You should go back to your room to sleep now.”
“Oh…”
Emma was very smart to realize that there was something off in her father’s expression. She cast a
longing glance at Charlotte before turning around to disappear upstairs obediently.
Only when the sound of a door shutting in the distance was heard did Lawrence instruct a maid next to
him.
“Take her to the bath. Don’t let her dirty our floor.”
Charlotte’s face turned pale instantly as a familiar sense of suffocation and pain coursed through her. In
an instant, her whole body was experiencing this sensation.
No matter the time and place, she was always dirty in Lawrence’s eyes.
…
After scrubbing through all parts of herself thoroughly, Charlotte reached the study room on the third
flood under the guidance of the maid.
As soon as she sat down, something that resembled a file was thrown in her direction.
Lawrence was looming over her and staring at her coldly.
“You just want me to let go of the Garcia family. I can agree to that, but similarly, everything comes at a
price.”
“In exchange for the peace of the Garcia family, I can’t marry and I can’t give birth to any child, and I
can’t leave City B either. Anytime, anywhere, as long as you have the urge, I have to deliver myself
here and sleep with you?”
Charlotte stared at Lawrence with horrified expression. Her hands which was clutching the documents
were sharking uncontrollably.
“Lawrence, you’re saying you want to buy over my whole life and make me your mistress in the
shadows?”
Lawrence snickered coldly.
“Charlotte, you’re thinking too highly of yourself. You don’t even deserve to be a mistress.”
