Chapter 12: Torment Her asYou Like as long as She’s Alive
Lawrence cast him a cold look upon hearing his question while the corner of his mouth curled up in
disdain as if he had just heard the biggest joke in the world.
Charlotte was untainted?
“There is no other woman in this world whom is filthier than her.”
Jeffery immediately grasped the meaning behind his word, but he could not make out the reason for
Lawrence’s self-restoring countenance if that was the case.
“However, there are only two types of women whom could help to restore your face for the past five
years. It’s either because a woman possesses virgin blood; or in the case that she is not a virgin, she
would work on you too if her blood type matches the requirements.”
“Your face has healed on its own after merely touching the body of the woman whom has left just now,
but since she is not a virgin and you have not been in contact with her blood, how could we make of
this then?”
Lawrence raised his head and looked at the direction which Charlotte was last seen during her
departure with a somber expression on his face while his brows were furrowed even deeper, “That’s
exactly what I want to know too.”
…
It’s pouring outside when Charlotte had exited from the Financial Tower, and Evelyn’s call came
through right when she had emerged from the lobby as though a pair of eyes were stalking her the
entire time in the dark.
“You fool, Charlotte! Why is Lawrence still not letting the Garcia family off the hook even after you have
dedicated your body to him? Or have you been up to some deliberate mischief by giving away
information that are not supposed to be revealed?”
“Don’t you forget that your old senile father still has some breath in him!”
Charlotte was instantly thrown into a panic from her threats, “I didn’t say anything! How could Lawrence
agree to my request so easily when he detests me so much?”
She felt a twinge of pain in her heart when her father and brother had crossed her mind while tears
rolled down her cheeks without any warning as she begged, “I beg of you, Evelyn. Please just give me
some more time so that I can think of another way.”
After a moment of pause, Evelyn’s condescending sneer could be heard from the other end of the call,
“As long as you don’t play games with me, I will naturally give you another chance as I still have to look
after both your father and brother. If the Garcia family were to go bankrupt due to your inexertion, we
would all have to die together.”
A snap could be heard the next instant as the call was hung up by Evelyn right after she had made that
threatening remark.
Charlotte’s hand trembled out of fear after the call had ended, causing her phone to fall to the ground
and roll down the staircase into the heavy downpour.
Beep…
A silver white van suddenly emerged out of nowhere at that moment, cutting through the rain curtain
and charging towards her while crushing her phone along the way, and it stopped abruptly and steadily
right in front of her in an instant.
When the door was opened, two towering men jumped out from the van and immediately grabbed her
by the arms to drag her inside without offering her any explanation at all.
Charlotte had been swiftly stuffed inside the van before she could even react to what had happened to
her.
She stared at the two unfamiliar faces in bleak dismay while being in a stunned state for a few
seconds, and when she had finally come to her senses, she instantly put up a last-ditch struggle as she
shrieked, “Who are you? Where are you bringing me? I don’t know you!” NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
“Let me go! Or else, I’ll call the police…”
She did not stand any chance to finish her sentence at all as the tall man sitting beside her had
promptly grabbed her by the hair to tilt her face upwards in a forceful manner while covering her nose
and mouth with a cloth.
Her nose was assaulted by a strange and unusual scent which had caused her to black out and lost
her consciousness in an instant.
She was able to hear the pouring rain coming from the outside of the car window and the splashing
sound made by the running tires while being in a daze.
A few hushed voices could be heard in the van soon after, “We have brought her to you, and I believe
you all know the drill. You can torment her however you like as long as she is kept alive.”
She could vaguely sense some glimmering lights and a group of silhouettes flickered around her, and
the ominous atmosphere had chilled her to the bone.
Her arms and legs were hung up shortly after as a voice rang in her ear, “It’s ready. Let’s start.”
