Betrothed To The Mafia Lord

Chapter 313

Chapter 313

Luca’s POV

Armani was alive now and that was all that matters. After capturing the man behind all of this, who wan

also shot in the arm and leg, he got taken hostage, because he still gave a lot of answering to do to

me.

I cradled Armani in my arms and made sure he was breathing, before he got carefully lifted and placed

in his car. To say I wasn’t blaming myself for all what had happened, would be an understatement. But

then James’ words keep resounding in my head, that I wasn’t to blame myself for any of these.

After clearing out the now messy as hell scene, we headed straight for one of my condos here in italy,

there was just no way I’d be taking him home this way, and taking him to an actual hospital was out of

the question. From the look of his wound and how badly he had been bleeding before James had

stopped the bleeding by tying a cloth to stop the flow of blood, it seems like he was going to be needing

more than a few stitches, and so he was going to have to get tended to by an actual doctor, which I

was already putting a call to.

Doctor Alponsol was a matured man in his late fifties, who I had known since I was a kid. He had been

working for my family since I could remember. He didn’t exclusively work for me, but I could call him

whenever there was an emergency, like there currently is. He picked up his call on the second ring and

his voice which had deepened in an unpleasant way because of what he smoked, wafted Inti my ear as

he spoke.

He informed me that he was going to be on his way and I ended the call. I remained silent after that, This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .

briefly looking out the window every few minutes. I glanced at James when he began to say something.

“How are you feeling?” He has asked and I shrugged a little. “Like shit. You?”

“Same. We match.” He responded and I rolled my eyes.

“We did find him like I said we were going to.” He continued after a few moments and I let out a small

hum after glancing out the window again. “Yeah, I guess you were right.”

——

Armani was still unconscious when he got carried into the condo by a few of my guards, but I wasn’t

worried about that, because that was expected from the loss of blood he had went through and the

pain, along with the shock of all what he had passed through this past few days, that I was sure he

wasn’t going to be forgetting anytime soon.

I hated how I was feeling guilty over him getting shot. It was most definitely going to give him ptsd, I

was very sure of that. Once the doctor arrived, we shook hands with him because he really was an old

friend. He did a lot of stuff for my dad when my dad was still alive, because the way my dad had a lot of

enemies, so did he get cornered a lot, and injured a lot. Unlike me, I rarely get into messy business

unless really necessary, hence I only call on him once in a while.

He took a look at Armani’s wound and got to work immediately, and I stood at the side, making sure

that all was going to be well with him. He reassured me that Armani was going to wake up in a few

hours time to a lot of pain, which I already figured. If he was shocked that Armani was the reason why I

had called him, he didn’t show it, because nobody here in the media knew his were about and had

even concluded that he was already dead, which was why I was sure a lot of the underlords I had met

last night had been shocked about the news of Armani’s abduction.

When the doctor finally left, he said he was going to come back the next morning and we parted ways

with a few words. We never discussed price in person, all he had to do was to hand me a slip of his

price by the time he was done working for me, and I was going to make the necessary transaction, that

was how we worked.

Once he had left, I urged James to head home because he was just as stressed out as I was, but he

refused to leave unless I leave as well. And so we placed some of my personal guards on the house,

and one to watch over Armani overnight and to call if anything unusual happens, right before we both

existed the condo.

It wasn’t long before I was heading home, driving by myself. I knew I was in no state to drive because

my head was pounding really badly, and I haven’t slept in over forty eight hours, neither have I eaten a

thing. One of my guards who could drive me home, had been asked to instead watch over Armani by

me, because I needed him safe at all cost.

I arrived home after an hour and some minutes, and was making my way into the house instantly, with

images of Sofia’s face already appearing in my mind.

I suddenly wanted to set my eyes on her and reassure myself that she was fine and wasn’t in any sort

of danger. The image of her sobbing appeared for a moment as I was pushing the door close, and now

that I was thinking about it, I hated myself so much for leaving her that way yesterday.

I knew I had to talk with my guards, knew I needed to instill more fear into them and to warn them to

never ever make the kind of mistake they made by letting Sofia and Armani out by themselves ever

again, but I wasn’t sure I had it in me to do that right now.

I knew I also have to try to check if I indeed have a rat in my mafia or not, but at this point, I feel like all

of them could wait.

They could wait, they were not important right now.

What’s important right now is Sofia.
