Betrothed To The Mafia Lord

Chapter 309

Chapter 309

Luca’s POV

To say I was furious right now was going to be an understatement. I was so damn angry, it felt like the

emotion inside of me kept building each passing seconds.

My brother was missing.

The only brother who I have, who have been kept safe for over a decade in the states, and had only

returned last night. It hasn’t even been up to twenty four hours and he’s already kidnapped by God

knows who.

The fact that James has been worried about this particular thing before Armani has arrived, made me ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

so much angrier, because definitely, all these could have been easily been avoided if I hadn’t allowed

him to come back here.

The fact that he was kidnapped, definitely means that someone had ratted out that he was now back in

Italy, because no one knew about his arrival except James and my guards.

There was so much that needed to be done, but they were all going to have to wait because I need to

find Armani as fast as possible.

What could have made him and Sofia leave the house without any guards? Despite how they both

know just how dangerous it was to be outside without protection. I walked out of the house and stood

on the pouch for a moment, roughly running my fingers through my hair.

I was so damn pissed right now. The guards I had placed on Sofia had a whole lot of explaining to do,

because they sure as well were never supposed to let her out of the house without informing me, and

also without accompanying her as well. Because of Armani’s arrival, I had made sure to place more

guards around the house, just to ensure that there was more protection around the house… only for

him to do what? To go out there and place himself in the hands of the kidnappers.

For fuck’s sake.

And Sofia had… had thought I was going to hit her?

The fuck? I wasn’t even in the right head state to think about that right now, and so I shoved the

thought to the back of my head.

I motioned for Ryan and Ethan to come forward after a few moments, already seeing the hesitations in

their faces as they came forward. I had already alerted James and what had happened as well as a few

of our men, and I was going to go meet him in a few minutes time.

Ethan and Ryan remained silent as they stared downwards, but I had zero patience in me right now.

“The fuck did I tell you when I placed you on watch with Sofia?” I asked in a low voice. The anger in my

voice was very obvious, in as much as I was silent as hell right now.

They both fidgeted and one of them, Ethan finally responded. “We were to always watch over her…”

When I kept staring at him, it didn’t take long for his partner to pick up from where he had stopped.

“And we were to always guard and protect her, and to never let her leave the house on her own.”

I nodded stiffly. “And what did you do?” I asked cooly.

“I- we thought she had already told you herself, and we also thought she was going to be alright with

Mr. Ricci.”

Ryan was referring to my brother in that sentebce. Of course he had thought that, because after all,

who was going to ever be able to imagine that my brother doesn’t even know how to handle a gun?

Absolutely no one.

I ran my hands through my hair and puffed out a harsh breath, and when I made to speak, the ringing

of my phone made me pause.

“Yeah?” I said into the phone after receiving the call and James’ familiar voice poured into my ear as he

spoke.

“Are you almost here yet?”

“I’m still at the house but I’d be there really soon.” I said to him while regardint the expanse of the

house, and silently wondering if there indeed was a rat in my premises. Who was daring enough to do

that? Who was that dumb and stupid?

James pulled me out of my head with his next words. “Don’t drive yourself over, you’re not in the right

state to do that.”

I only rolled my eyes and ended the call on James, and then I pocketed my phone as I began to head

towards my car.

I was about to pull the car door open before remembering that I still have an ongoing conversation with

Sofia’s guards, and so I turned around to regard them.

“We’d continue this conversation when I get back.”

They both bowed their heads as I turned back around and got into the car. I had started the car and

was about to drive out when I remembered something, which made me stop and climb back out, as I

beaconed Sofia’s guards forward.

“Were you able to gather anything from that scene?”

Ethan was the one ti instantly start speaking. “Yes, we were. There are some cctv cameras around that

area, so the scene had definitely been recorded in it.”

If the kidnappers were smart people, they’d have hacked into the cameras and erased those footages,

so there was a hunch that I wasn’t going to be meeting any footage in the cameras. Regardless, I

nodded my head at them and headed back into my car, and was driving out of the compound after a

few more moments.

My head was starting to pound and I was gripping the steering wheels really hard. A very vivid image of

Sofia sobbing and flinching away from me like she had thought – no, like she had expected me to hit

her, flashed in my head for a fleeting moment, but I tried not to dwell on it and ended up shoving that

image to the back of me mind.

This wasn’t the time for that now, this was definitely not the time for that, even though it felt like my

heart was still aching from the image of that scene.
