Betrothed To The Mafia Lord

Chapter 294

Chapter 294

Luca’s POV

“Oh, they’re around, they’re all safe. I just didn’t add any of your old stuff here because I didn’t know if

you are still attached to those things the way you used to be back then.” I started to speak with a small

sigh slipping out of my mouth.

“Oh, really? Wow, that’s so cool.” He breathed out in the next moment.

“Yup, it’s still here.” I said once again.

“Can I go through them tomorrow?” Ge asked as he started to make his way towards me and I nodded

my head with a small chuckle.

“Of course, of course you can. They’re your stuff after all.” I said to him in the next moment.

“You’re the best, Luca.” Armani said softly as soon as he was standing before me, with a little bit of

space between us and I nodded my head at him with a small lift of my shoulders.

“I really am?” I asked after a few seconds and watched as he huffed out a small breath.

“Yeah, you are. You’re the very best and I’m so glad I have you as a brother.” He finally continued.

I felt a small smile start to tug at the sides of my lips as I closed the distance between us and placed

both my hands at his shoulders, and then I slowly slide my hands down to rest on his biceps.

“I’m glad I have you as a brother as well.” I started to speak, tightening my hold on his biceps in the

next moment. He shrugged a little and breathed out a small chuckle.

“I don’t know what I did to deserve you but, it’s all so..,” He continued to speak after a couple of

moments and I leaned towards and pulled him into my arms, wrapping my arms firmly around him in

the next moment.

“You’re ok, you’re ok. I feel this exact way too. I’m so glad I can finally be able to hold you against me

this way. It feels so unreal, you know? It feels unreal. Like, I had almost completely lost hope of ever

being able to hold you in my arms again when I didn’t get to hear from you over the years.” I paused

and breathed out a slow sigh, tightening my hold against him and feeling him do the same in the next

moment.

“It wasn’t like I didn’t want to call you or something, but you warned me not to give you a call unless it

was really urgent… and so, and so…” He started to speak after a couple of moments, but he ended up

being unable to complete his sentence. I pulled out of the embrace after a few seconds, and then I

returned back to holding him with my hands at his biceps, as I stared down at him. He wasn’t all that

short than I am, but he was definitely not as tall as I am, and I still have to stare down at him the way I

was doing recently. Although I don’t have to look really lower the way I do each time I was talking to

Sofia, I was still looking down at him regardless.

“What is it? What were you about to say?” I asked in a slow voice as I stared down at him, narrowing

my gaze at him after a fleeting moment when he obviously started to hesitate. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Armani, you were saying something.” I pointed out and watched as he huffed out a small breath and

nodded his head at me in the next moment.

“Yeah, I was.” He echoed out after a couple of moments had passed.

“Go on then, complete your sentence.” I urged when he still hesitated.

He puffed out a small sigh after a couple of moments, and also tried to get out of my grip, but I

tightened my hold on his biceps instantly, knowingly as I narrowed my eyes at him.

“Armani…” I began to call our once again.

“It sounds stupid.” He argued after a moment, “Don’t bother about it anymore.”

“Of course it isn’t, it’s very much important and definitely not stupid. C’mon, let it out already.” I started

to speak once again, tightening my hold on his biceps in the next moment.

“Alright, fine.” He huffed out and I waited patiently for him to finally start to speak.

“Well, I had wanted to give you a call for a really long time, ever since I left this country. But then you

said I shouldn’t call you unless it was really important. You told me to try to live a normal life and to not

give you a call at all, unless it was really important… so I just assumed that, that…”

“C’mon, Armani. Just let it out already.” I urged after a fleeting moment.

“I had thought that I wasn’t, you know… really important enough, and that I was going to be

unnecessarily disturbing you and disrupting your schedule by attempting to give you a call, that was

why I didn’t bother at all.” He paused for a moment and averted his gaze on seeing the shock on my

face.

“What? No…” I started to speak after a few seconds had passed but he cut into what I was saying

effortlessly.

“Even though I missed you a whole lot. I couldn’t put a call through to you, and it hurt me so much, like,

a whole lot.”

“Armani, why would you think that?” I asked in a low voice after a few seconds. I watched as he

shrugged his shoulders in the next moment right before he started to speak.

“That was what you told me, and that was probably how my brain chose to interpret it back then.” He

replied after a few seconds, shrugging his shoulders once again.

“I didn’t mean it that way, perhaps I definitely worded it so badly without even realizing it. I had just

thought that you understood what exactly it was that I had meant.” I started to speak after a couple of

moments.

“What did you mean by that back then?” He asked in the next moment and I breathed out a small sigh

before starting to speak.

“I mean, what I had meant back then was that I didn’t want you to put a call through to me like every

day, or like months, or even years… and it was all for your own good. I didn’t want a situation whereby

your call might mistakenly get traced back to you, that was all I was concerned about back then, which

was why I had said that to you.” I paused after a few moments and dropped my hands from Armani’s

sides to turn away from him a little and shove my fingers into my hair.

“You remember whereby those times before I had decided that it was going to be for the best it I sent

you away from here?” I asked him after a few moments without glancing back at him.

“It was really ugly back then, everyone literally wanted us dead, and I was a burden back then because

I couldn’t defend myself back then… not like i can still do that now anyways.” His voice was soft as fw

finally responded and my mouth fell open a little as I instantly turned around to stare at him, moving

towards him and gripping his shoulders.

“Armani? What the fuck? Was this all what was in your head all these while?” I asked almost

immediately, shaking him a little for emphasis and I watched as he finally shrugged his shoulders a little

after I was done shaking him a little.

“That wasn’t the reason why I sent you away, the fuck?” I breathed out, allowing my eyes to slide close

for a few moments.

“That wasn’t the reason as to why I sent you away at all, I sent you away because you’ve never really

been made for this whole mafia lifestyle, and also because I wanted you to finally be free of everything

relating to this life which you hated so much since you were little. I wanted you to finally live a normal

life, that was why you got sent away.” I paused after a few minutes.

“And I feel bad, I felt so bad about not having your phone number or any means in which I could use to

get to you all these while…” I trailed off and dragged in a deep breath into my lungs, feeling my chest

expand a little.

“I felt so shitty each time it was my birthday, because the person I loved the most in the world was in a

faraway country and I was unable to speak to you and I didn’t know how you were going to react to me

suddenly caking you for someone as irrelevant as a birthday, and I always feel equally bad each time it

was your birthday aw well, it was like a cycle that always repeats itself each year, and each time it hits,

I’d get really low and sad.” He paused and puffed out a shaky breath and I squeezed my eyes close in

the next moment, feeling a stab of pain slide straight into the middle of my chest as his words slowly

sank into my head.
