Chapter 266
Chapter 266
Luca’s POV
I didn’t believe her all that much but I nodded my head at her nevertheless, James was going to be
leaving here anytime soon, and then I was going to have her all to myself after that, so I guess it can try
to wait unt then before going all caveman on her.
“Thank you,” Sofia said to Matilda when she came back into the dining room to clear the table, and
leaned down to whisper something into Sofia‘a ear. I watched as a small fond look crossed Sofia’s face
just as Matilda was leaving the dining room and closing the door behind her. It wasn’t until two minutes
had passed before Sofia was excusing herself and making her way out of the dining room, directly into
the kitchen where Matilda had disappeared into.
I turned my attention to James the next moment and the first thing he decided to say made me snort a
little.
“You’re so down bad. So, so down bad.” He informed me and I rolled my eyes a little. It wasn’t like I
was trying to deny it, I won’t even try a little because it was nothing but the truth. I was really down bad
for Sofia.
“Shut the fuck up, James.” I said to him after a few seconds and watched as he breathed out a small
chuckle and was leaning into me in the next moment.
“Man, you’re in love.” He stated. He wasn’t asking me, he wasn’t even leaving any room for any sort of
argument, he was telling me, and those few words were making their way into my head to sink into the
lowest end of it.
I breathed out a smell sigh and ran my fingers through my hair in the next second, and I was making to
respond to him.
“Okay.” I said in a slow and loud voice, and telling by the way he instantly blinked at me, he had
obviously not been expecting that response from me.
“Okay?” He asked after a few seconds and I nodded my head at him, and I couldn’t help it, a laugh
spilled out of me when he blinked at me confusingly once again.
“Why are you looking so surprised? I was agreeing with you.” I steered to say to him after a few
moments, watching as he proceeded to lean back into his seat the next second.
“You really are in love, man? That’s it? That’s what you’re saying, right?” He started to ask and huffed
out a small laugh as I made to lean forward and place my hands on the table before me.
“I wasn’t saying a thing, I was only agreeing with you, you were the one who did the saying.” I reminded
him and watched as he blinked at me once again that at this point, it was starti to look mad funny.
“So you’re not in love?” He asked and rolled my eyes a little before starting to speak.
“You said I was in love, didn’t you?” I deadpanned and watched as he shrugged his shoulders a little.
“Yes, and you agreed with me.” He reminded me with another eye roll.
“Exactly, then why are you all shocked and blinking your eyes like a damn fucking robot?” I asked as I
breathed a small laugh and watched as he started to scowl at me, and in the next moment he was
kicking at my shin with his foot.
I was about to return his kick with one of mine but all thought of doing exactly that literally dissolved into
air as soon as the doors of the dining room got pushed open as Sofia started to make her way into the
room, pulling the doors closed behind her. She pulled her chair back a little as she slid into it and I
noticed how her race was literally glowing. It was very obvious that there was something that she had
just got informed about or something that got shown to her, because she was literally all smiles and
really trying to hide how her lips were begging to split into a smile on her face.
James informed me that he’d be leaving really soon and I’ve got to admit that I was glad about that.
When I was still single, there were days whereby James would end up sleeping over at my house
because we’d talk into the night on some days. But now that there was a woman in my life, I wasn’t
sure if that was going to be possible anymore. He was such a third wheel at the moment that I was
almost sorry for him.
“I wanna go say thank you and goodbye to Sarah, I’ll be back in a few minutes.” James started to say
as he pushed out of his seat and even bowed his head a little for Sofia who did the same head
movement to him, as he started to make his way out of the dining room, taking his time to close the
doors behind him.
I turned my gaze to Sofia to see her staring intently at her thighs, she knew that we were finally alone,
and I was sure she could feel my gaze on her cheeks, but she just wouldn’t glance up at me. I kept on All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
staring at her because I knew that she was going to end up giving up at a point. She didn’t end up
lasting more than a minute and some seconds before she was lifting her head up to focus her gaze on
mine, and our eyes locked instantly.
“What’s got you all smiling this way?” I asked after a moment and watched as her eyes widened at first
and then she was huffing out a breath and trying to relax her cheeks the next second.
“Uh, am I smiling? I’m not.”
I snorted a little before reaching a hand out to caress the side of her cheeks in the next second, and
she leaned into my touch instantly, her eyes slowly sliding close.
“You sure you were not smiling?” I asked after a few moments and felt her start to shake her head.
“I am.”
“I like your dress, it looks so stunning.” I said to her and watched as she blinked her eyes open slowly,
lowering her gaze a little before poking her tongue out for no reason.
“Thank you.”
“It compliments your eyes so well, I see why this exact color is your favorite.”
“Thank you.” She paused at first. “Although this isn’t my favorite shade of blue.” She was grinning a
little at the moment and I poked the side of her cheeks a little, making a small giggle spill almost
immediately. We were both staring into each other’s eyes and doing nothing in particular, and because
I could even think of trying to steal a quick kiss, The dining room doors started to get pulled open,
making Sofia pull out of my touch at the same time. I was lowering my hand back to the table as James
was making his way back into the dining room.
James being the bastard that he was started to speak when he got to his seat. “I’m so sorry for
disrupting, I only came here to get my phone, and to inform you guys that I’d be leaving right now.”
I rolled my eyes a little and decided that this particular moment was the best time to kick him in the feet,
and he only grunted a little and took a step away from where my leg would be able to reach him if I
wanted to kick him again.
I pushed myself out of my seat the next moment because I wanted to see him to the door.
“No, there’s no need, I can see myself out just fine, you can go back to what you were doing before I
interrupted as soon as I leave.” He said with a small laugh and I’ve never wanted to wrap my hands
around his throat and squeeze until he drop dead before my feet.
“I’ll still see you off.” I said to him with an eye roll as I walked past Sofia‘s seat to stand beside him. He
bowed his head down a little almost immediately before starting to speak.
“Thank you for the meal.”
“You’re welcome to come around anytime you want to.” Was Sofia’s response and I noticed that there
was a little bit of color in her cheeks at the moment. He bowed his head once again and Sofia did the
same as she pushed to her feet.
And then James and I were leaving the dining room, heading down the hallway until we were both
before the door leading out of the house.
“You bastard, thanks for coming.” I said to him as I started to unlock the door.
“Of course. And please remember to place those calls and send those messages tonight before
starting a thing with your wife, because I’m sure you’d end up forgetting to do all those important things
once you start getting down and nasty with…”
I shoved him a little before he could complete his lewd sentence and a laugh bubbled out of him just as
I pulled the door open. I patted him on the shoulder a little before shoving him once again.
“Out you go.”
