Chapter 155
Chapter 155
Luca’s POV
“You wouldn’t be attending any kind of gathering relating to stuff where you’re supposed to have a date,
without your wife coming with you, she’s now your wife, which automatically makes her your date for
this kind of thing, remember?” James started to speak again and I felt my back press into the back of
my chair even more, as I allowed his words to slowly sink into my head.
Ok but i honestly never thought about it this way. I mean, I did, but it still didn’t register fully in my mind
that it was going to start happening like this after I got married.
I shook my head a little in order to push the hair which had fallen into my face, out of the way as I
stared up at James once again.
“Remember, this is your first official outing after you guys got married, and of course, the social media
should have been waiting for this day ever since the second day after you got married. So I’m like a
hundred percent sure that every one of those paparazzi are going to want to attend this wedding today,
just so they could get a glimpse of you and your wife and so they can be able to publish some trending
new once again, because you’re expected to attend, every one is expecting you to attend, you can’t not
attend.” James continued once again and my mind started to wander back home, to think that we had a
really flat relationship back at home until about three days ago.
“I get you now, I guess?” I finally started to speak and I carded my fingers through my hair before
deciding to continue. “I’d have to leave here early, to go prepare for it, and Y’know, to inform Sofia
about the wedding, so she can get ready and stuff.”
“I just know that you can’t wait to show her off tonight, you bastard.” James snickered and I gave him a
blank and confused look. “What are you talking about?” I demanded and all he did was to roll his eyes
as he finally pushed his chair back and pushed himself to his feet.
“You know what I was referring to, fucker.” He replied, and then he leaned down and placed a palm on
the middle of the table before starting to speak once again. “So, what are you going to do about those
guys who ambushed you on the way back from work, are you going to go in with this plan? You’re still
going to be revenging back? Right?”
I leaned forward in my seat and placed my hands on the table, locking my eyes with Luca’s, before
finally starting to speak. “Yeah, yeah… I suppose. Don’t worry, we’ll discuss more about it tomorrow,
once this wedding thing is out of the way.” I paused and thought for a couple of moments before
starting to speak once again.
“This is like the thing which I can’t do without attending, along with the council meeting on Sunday,
right? The other appointments can be totally skipped and postponed, right?”
“Hm, let me see…” James replied and waisted a few seconds before starting to shake his head, he
hadn’t bothered to check in anywhere, all he needed to do was to check the invincible lift he carried
around in his head, and then he started to speak. “There are still two or three appointments which I’m
very sure of, that you cannot miss, I’ll have to check the office and my phone before I can be
completely sure. But after those completely really important ones, we can just reschedule, no big deal
in those ones, except the fact that it’s going to drag us back. That’s all.”
“Hm, alright. That’s great then, because I honestly don’t feel like any other appointments this week,
which know sounds dumb because I can’t not stop attending appointments and securing deals and so
on.” I continued before leaning back in my seat and waving my hand at James, before starting once
again. “You can go on, I’ll figure myself out.”
“Alright man.” He breathed out a reply as he pushed himself to his feet and started to walk backwards
with his eyes still locked with mine, and then he suddenly paused and started to speak. “Don’t forget to
attend the wedding with a gift, remember, because it’s very important.”
I swiped my hand over my face and let out a low groan at that, because I know he was right about it
being important, and I know that I had forgotten about it and might have ended up attending the
gathering without any sort of gift.
“What can I even give them as a wedding gift?” I demanded as I started to massage the side or my
forehead with my fingers, with my head resting on the edge of my chair.
“A wine, and some fancy things.” James suggested and then he paused and pointed his thumb
backwards so it pointed at the door which he was currently backing. “You can send one of your
secretaries to quietly go to the supermarket for you, and send them to buy the stuff.”
“Oh alright, good idea, I’ll do that right now.” I replied to him immediately, and because it was totally
true and nothing but the truth, I decided to let him know, even though I’ve always talked about it.
“You’re the best James.”
James only let a snicker slip out, and then he was turning around and walking out the door, but not
before flipping me the bird.
I allowed my eyes to slide shut as soon as the door got closed and I breathed in deeply, feeling my
chest expand a little for a few moments before finally returning back to its normal size. I was going to
have to leave here in about an hour or two.
First of all, lest I forget, I picked up the telephone and phoned the other room where my secretaries
were housed, and after a few minutes, a knock was echoing on the door.
“Come in, close the doors.”
“Alright now, I need you to head to the nearest supermarket and go get me a few things…”
******
I paused outside the kitchen entrance and stared in silently, watching as they all interacted without
having any idea that they were currently being watched by me.
Sofia was tapping away on her phone this time, and she was breathing out a laugh every second, from
whatever it was that she was seeing in her phone, along with what Matilda and Sarah were talking
about around her as well.
After a few seconds, I finally decided to speak up.
“Sofia?”
The three heads in the kitchen turned around at the same time to focus six pairs of eyes on me all at
once, but my full attention was on the one who I had called on in the first place, Sofia.
I watched as she swallowed emptily before slowly sliding off the chair whigh she was currently sitting
on, and she picked up her phone from the counter where she had dropped it on after I had called her,
moments ago, before starting to make her way towards me.
“Hello Sarah, Matilda,” I murmured and both women responded almost at the same time, just as Sofia
finally stopped a few feet away from me. I stared down at her intently, her eyes sinking into mine and
my eyes moving over all the features on her face to feast on her lips for a fleeting second, before
returning back to her face.
I reached forward and placed my fingers on her cheeks, watching as color had started to flood her
cheeks almost immediately. I glanced up from Sofia’s face to see our audience staring at the both of us
intently, with so much curiosity, and it was amusing how they both turned their heads around as soon
as I glanced up from Sofia’s face.
“How are you, Sarah?” I asked, feeling my hand inch downwards until I was tracing her lower part of
Sofia’s chin ever so lightly, and it felt like a really huge blasphemy that her body wasn’t pressed against
mine at the moment, and that there was still some space between us at the moment.
“I’m doing alright, thank you.” She replied after a moment and I nodded my head at Sarah before
dropping my gaze back to Sofia, and then I moved my gaze back to Sarah.
“I’m going to be borrowing Sofia from you guys right now,” I started to say, having no idea as to why I
was even bothering explaining myself at the moment, and Sarah along with Matilda had quickly
expressed their understanding and how they do not mind at all thst I was borrowing my wife from them. Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
I gave them a firm nod, and I reached down and opened my palm, watching as her eyes darted from
my face to my opened palm and back to my palm, before she finally slipped her smaller hand into mine.
I wrapped my fingers around hers and I was pulling her out of the kitchen, heading straight upstairs.
