Bedmates Soulmates

CHAPTER 129

It Wasn't A Dream

'Picture this,' Damian continued. 'Kira walks down a hallway. She catches the eye of a rich, entitled dude who's drunk

Damian shrugged. "Then just forget I said anything."

He poured himself a Scotch, sipped at it, and counted in his head.

Five seconds.

Ten seconds.

Fifteen seconds.

When he reached twenty-five, Austyn shot to his feet, heading straight for the door..

"Where are you going?' Damian shouted after his friend with a smirk.

"To the men's room!' Austyn shot back.

Damian shook his head, chuckling

in amusement.

His childhood had not changed one bit.

'Let me go!'

Kira was finding it hard to breathe.

Gideon's arms tightened around her waist.

She felt as if she was being slowly strangled by a boa constrictor.

She shoved against him to no avail, then she stomped on his feet.

But she was wearing trainers with soft soles.

Gideon did not budge.

He was hugging her so hard that her ribs were starting to hurt.

'Let me go!' Kira struck his chest.

Gideon lowered his head and buried his face in her long hair, greedily inhaling her scent.

He revelled in her presence, his head giddy with the joy of reunion.

He didn't dare to loosen his hold on her, for he was afraid she might disappear.

Gideon had vowed to himself that he would never allow that to happen for the third time.

He was never letting her go ever again.

He clung to her, feeling her warmth and her breaths, which reassured him that she was real. He wanted her with every fibre of his being. Kira struggled in vain.

Her strength was sapped.

Her arms were getting heavy.

She was a prisoner in his arms.

Suddenly, she tensed.noveldrama

Kira was not the wide-eyed girl of three years ago.

She was a married woman, and she could feel the desire of the man, whose body was crushed against hers.

Kira panicked.

She struggled harder.

But her strength was no match for Gideon's.

Kira turned her hips, trying to put as much difference between her and Gideon as possible.

The thought of Gideon going too far terrified her.

Her heart thumped wildly.

She'd lost track of time.

Gideon grew bolder.

No longer satisfied with just hugging her, he needed more proof that she was not just a figment of his drunken imagination.

He held her face in both hands and kissed her cheek

A light peck at first, then the kiss grew more passionate, possessive and demanding.

'Kira,' he mumbled.

She turned her face away, dodging his kiss.

When his lips moved onto hers, she clamped her mouth shut and kneed him in the to go any higher.

too tall for her

Gideon gave a muffled groan.

He finally released his iron grip on her and staggered back a few steps.

He tottered, then fell.

Kira, heart in mouth, broke into a dead run.

The last glimpse she had of Gideon was his pale face contorted in pain.

The kick had been pretty hard.

She slowed for a second, but then she kept running.

"Young Master!'

Martin found Gideon on the floor when he came out In search of him.

He hurried over.

Gideon's eyes were closed.

Was he sleeping, or had he passed out?

Martin shook Gideon's shoulders gingerly. 'Young Master, wake up!*

Gideon slowly came to.

He seemed to have blacked out for a while just now.

He blinked, then drew in a deep breath to clear away the cobwebs.

The back of his head throbbed with pain."

""What happened?"

Martin helped him up. 'Young Master, I was about to ask you the same thing. You left the room twenty minutes ago for a smoke. I came out to look for you and found you on the floor. You must've fainted." Gideon leaned on his assistant, still feeling dizzy.

'Young Master, what happened?'

Gideon said slowly, 'I think I saw Kira.'

He glanced around.

There were just the two of them.

But he was sure it wasn't a dream.

He'd held her and kissed her.

Her warmth was real

Her scent was real.

The feel of h

her soft lips was real.

Martin scanned the hallway. 'You were alone when I saw you. There was no one else.'

Gideon closed his eyes and rubbed his temples.

'Maybe it was someone who looked like her,' Martin said carefully,

Young

Young Master was drunk.

Knowing Gideon's obsession with Miss Hewitt, Martin was almost certain that it had been a case of mistaken identity.

Gideon refused to believe it.

He knew whom he saw.

It was Kira, not a lookalike.

Besides, he couldn't have kicked himself in the thigh.

But there was no point in arguing with Martin.

'I'm not going back to the room,' he said. 'I'm going to take a walk.

Martin sighed. 'Sure, Young Master.

He knew the walk was just an excuse.

His young master had not given up on looking for Miss Hewitt.

Kira locked herself in a toilet stall.

She didn't know what to think

Friday night had not been a dream.

Gideon was here in Stamford, in the same city as her.

His pale face flashed through her mind again.

She's Not Hallucinating

But she barely talked to the man, and the things she said couldn't possibly be construed as offensive.

Kira suppressed the urge to demand an answer from the man.

Austyn had the most eccentric friends, she thought.

*Would

you like something else to drink?' Luca asked. 'I noticed you didn't touch any of the drinks on the table."

The low glass table in front of their sofa was covered with bottles of vodka, rum, tequila, red wine, gin, and whisky.

All spirits.

'Are you a teetotaller? Luca asked.

'Oh, I'm not,' Kira said. 'It's just that I'm more of a beer drinker."

"They have craft beer on tap, I think. Which do you prefer-IPA, pilsner, stout?

'I prefer the type that comes in a can and can be bought at a supermarket, Kira thought.

She said, "Thank you, though I would like just a glass of orange juice if that's okay."

'Sure." Luca pressed a button on the wall behind the sofa to summon a waiter.

Kira was impressed by how considerate the captain was.

'Snacks?' Luca asked when a waiter came in.

"Um, sure, thank you."

Luca whispered a few words to the waiter, who nodded and went back out.

'Miss Hewitt, you're still in school, right?'
