Alpha’s Predestined Bride

EPISODE 71 The jealous alpha

MEAGAN SWIFT HOME

Few hours later, Meagan woke up. She was still sleepy, satisfied and more than in love with the alpha. A small smile crept on her face as she reached across the bed to where she expected the alpha to be only to find the space empty.

Slowly, she opened her eyes and looked around the room to meet absolute silence. The alpha was probably in the bathroom or somewhere in the apartment.

Meagan rolled over and she stretched out her slightly sore muscles. She reached for the pillow the alpha had used, buried her face in it and sniffed in the scent of him. Meagan was excited that she would always wake up beside the alpha for the rest of her life.

The thought of it had her sitting up in bed with a bright smile on her expression. The way the alpha held her, the way he had let her wrap herself around him and slept with her head pressed to his heart. It meant so much to her.

Meagan reached for a band on the bed side drawer and she packed up her hair and rolled it in a bun. She crawled out of the bed, made a quick trip to the bathroom and she put on a leggings and top.

Meagan motioned out of the room to look for the alpha. She had hoped to find him in the living room watching tv but he wasn’t there. She motioned towards the kitchen and was greeted by delicious aromas. She stopped at the entrance only to see Carl moving around in the small kitchen and food on the island.

Meagan cleared her throat. “You prepared dinner?”

Alpha Carl stopped to look at her and she was surprised to see the clothes on his body. “You are awake. Did you have a good sleep?” He noticed she wasn’t look at his face anymore but the clothes.

“Yes.. I did. Time has gone by too fast. And it is a good thing I am off work today.” Meagan replied as she walked into the kitchen.

“I am sorry for running through your closet. I didn’t bring a spare clothing with me so I-”

“It’s alright.” Meagan interrupted him.

“Are these Max clothing?” Alpha Carl blurted out when she didn’t stop looking at his body. And their gaze locked when Meagan’s head snapped up to look at him.

“No! I bought them at the mall when my brother came visiting but it was too big. It has been more than a year now.” Meagan replied in an unusually raised tone.

Alpha Carl flashed her a small smile as he went over to her. “I am sorry. I shouldn’t have searched through your closet or even mention your ex boyfriend.” He apologized.

“No, it’s alright. You must have been curious about finding a man’s clothes in my closet.” She embraced him.

“Not really. Look I didn’t know what to prepare exactly but I tried to cook pasta. I hope you like it.” Alpha Carl placed a kiss on her forehead before pulling away from the embrace.

“Yes.” Meagan nodded.

“Sit down, I’ll get water.” Alpha Carl motioned towards the refrigerator to get a bottle of water.

Meagan settled down to eat while Carl sat down facing her directly. “Here.” He placed a plate of pasta in front of her.

“Thank you.” She smiled.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

And they started eating. “Hmm.. this is really delicious.” Meagan commented.

Alpha Carl admired Meagan as she enjoyed the food. Strands of hair tumbled around her fresh face as she concentrated on the food.

“You look beautiful.” Alpha Carl muttered. He was finding it hard to concentrate fully on his food.

Meagan’s head snapped up to look at him. He smiled brightly as her gaze drifted down to his plate.

“You haven’t touched your food.” Meagan arched her eyebrows.

“Watching you is enough to make me full.” Alpha Carl reached out to touch her free hand on the table.

Red colors flushed up her cheeks at his words. “Come on. Eat your food and stop staring.” Meagan pointed at the plate in front of him.

“Does it make you feel uncomfortable? I mean watching you so closely.” Alpha Carl asked.

“No, I am not feeling uncomfortable. Seriously Carl, I am glad that you are here.” Meagan smiled.

Alpha Carl let out a sigh. “Well.. I thought you won’t be glad to see me. And you even tried to send me off.” He pouted.

“It was just a facade. Come on. Look at us now, I hope that I have been able to convince you more that I want you.” Meagan stared intently at him as she locked their hands.

Thinking back over the hours he had spent with this woman that he loves so much. “Yeah. But.. I think we should try to put things in place.” Alpha Carl smiled.

“Like what?” Meagan asked.

“What’s your next plan?” Alpha Carl questioned.

“I am planning to tender my resignation letter tomorrow.” Meagan answered.

“Tomorrow?” Carl furrowed his eyebrows.

Meagan shook her head. “But.. tomorrow is thanksgiving. Aren’t you supposed to visit your family?” Alpha Carl demanded.

Meagan gasped out. “Oh! That’s right! It’s my day off and I promised to see my dad!”

Alpha Carl chuckled. “It’s a good thing you are around to remind me.” Meagan scooped food in her mouth.

Alpha Carl cleared his throat after some minutes of silence. “Meagan, I am thinking if I should come along with you to see your parents. I mean.. since I am in town.. it is way better and easier to-”

“Okay.” Meagan interrupted him.

Alpha Carl’s eyes widened. “I’ll.. meet them? Are.. you sure?” He stuttered.

Meagan nodded. “Why do you look surprised?” She asked.

“Well.. I wasn’t sure if you would allow me meet them now.” Alpha Carl confessed.

Meagan let out a little giggle that made him grin. “Carl, I already made the decision to be with you. So we shouldn’t waste too much time anymore. Although I also don’t want you to think that I am desperate to get married but it is better to have the wedding early because of the baby bump.”

Alpha Carl shook his head in agreement. After all, his mom was right. “True. We should have the wedding early before the baby bump becomes obvious.” He agreed.

“Jones already helped me to book a flight. I’ll call him to book one for you too.” Meagan added.

Alpha Carl shifted uncomfortably in his seat. “Are you still in contact with him? I heard he stays close.. and you both have been friends for quite some time or maybe you used to be very close.”

Meagan studied his face and it wasn’t hard to tell what he was thinking. “We are just friends. And I made it clear that I can’t go out with him.”

His expression was so readable. “I doubt if Jones would accept such terms from you. Look at it from this aspect, what if he is still hoping that you might grow to fall in love with him? What if he is waiting for the right time to confess his feelings?” The alpha was jealous and he hated Jones guts when it concerns Meagan.

Alpha Carl almost continued rambling but Meagan cuts him off by wrapping her arms around him from behind. Alpha Carl froze on spot. He was surprised. He didn’t know when she had moved out of chair and came to his side to stand behind him.

“It’s okay. I am sure Jones would understand.” Meagan said.

Alpha Carl turned around and wrapped his arms around her waist. “Are you sure he won’t be a problem to us?” He asked.

Meagan looked straight into his eyes. “I’ll tell him everything on phone to clear things up. And I’ll apologize if I had kept his hope high in anyway.” She reassured him, kissing his forehead.

Alpha Carl seemed satisfied with the assurance. And if Jones wants to be a problem there are several ways to get him out of the way. Alpha Carl Damien concluded that he would use his authority as Jones’s Alpha if the need arises.

Alpha Carl felt more relaxed as she pressed kisses all over his face. “We should get a ring today.” He said.

Meagan stopped kissing to look into his eyes. “Your parents might ask why you don’t have a ring on your finger when I am present to fix a wedding date.” He chuckled.

“You are right. I know a jewelry store in town.” Meagan agreed.

“Alright. Let us eat up and get ready to hit town.” Alpha Carl let go of her waist but Meagan arms was still around his neck.

“Hitting town can come in later.” Meagan slammed her lips on his mouth.

Alpha Carl groaned as he stood up to his feet. Meagan melted into his arms. The food on the table can be reheated and eaten later.
