Alpha Kilian’s mind was consumed with thoughts of Nelly and the possibility of her children being his. So, he decided to visit his grandfather, Alpha Larry Morris.
Alpha Kilian lazily sat on the couch and said, “It’s been a while since I last visited, so I thought I’d drop by to see how you’re doing.”
Though he never explicitly stated his intentions, Alpha Larry knew all too well what was on his mind.
“You don’t even pick up my calls, but now you’re suddenly interested in my well-being?” teased Alpha Larry as he checked his reflection in the mirror.
“I wasn’t intentionally avoiding your calls. I just didn’t pick up because I was in a meeting,” Alpha Kilian replied.
“Sure, sure. You’re just that busy. Go ahead and work. You don’t need to worry about me at all,” Alpha Larry responded sarcastically, leaving Alpha Kilian speechless.
By then, Alpha Larry had picked out a nice outfit. He glanced at himself in the mirror before nodding happily.
Turning towards the couch, he saw Alpha Kilian sitting there like a deity. Alpha Larry rolled his eyes and said, “Alright, you’ve seen how I’m doing, so you can leave now. It’s almost time, and I have to go.” Without waiting for a response, Alpha Larry walked out, saying, “Let’s go, Dan.”
Alpha Kilian stared, knowing that Alpha Larry had done it on purpose.
No one knew what Alpha Kilian was planning when he sat on that couch, but suddenly Lara called him. “Alpha Kilian, are you busy?”
“No, I can talk,” he replied.
“It’s nothing important, actually. There are a few things regarding our projects that I think we should discuss in person. If you’re free, how about we meet up and have a meal together? We can talk about work then.”
Alpha Kilian didn’t respond.
“Oh, wait. I forgot you have plans for today. Maybe we can meet up afterward?” Lara asked.
“There’s no need for that. You mentioned wanting to try out Infinitium. Let’s meet there,” suggested Alpha Kilian.
Lara was taken aback but filled with glee at the same time. “Okay, I’ll see you later.”
After hanging up the call, Alpha Kilian arrived at Infinitium before Lara did.
She had made an extra effort to look nice and was filled with happiness at the thought of Alpha Kilian remembering her desire to try out the restaurant.
I guess a small part of him cares about me.
That day, Lara didn’t wear her usual formal outfit. Instead, she looked especially sexy.
As they sat across from each other, Lara asked, “Alpha Kilian, what would you like to have?”
“I’m good with anything,” he replied, his gaze fixed on the door as if lost in thought.
“Alright, then I’ll order. They have some recommended dishes. Let’s try them,” Lara said and proceeded to order a few dishes that matched Alpha Kilian’s tastes.
Once the orders were placed, she turned her attention to Alpha Kilian. Her eyes sparkled with seduction and femininity. “By the way, how did you suddenly free up your time? You said you had plans for today.”
“My plans changed last minute,” Alpha Kilian replied.
“Should we talk about work now or after the meal?” Lara asked.
“Let’s do it after,” Alpha Kilian answered, not in the mood to discuss work.
Lara nodded and said, “Okay.”
She couldn’t explain why, but that day she felt like Alpha Kilian truly cared about her.
Before she could say anything else, Alpha Kilian suddenly said, “I need to make a call.”
Lara nodded. “Alright.”
Meanwhile, Nelly and Alpha Wade were stuck in traffic, making them late.
In the corridor…
Nelly noticed that Alpha Wade seemed a bit uneasy, so she reassured him, “Grandpa, you’re just having a meal with an old friend, so relax.”
“I’ve known Alpha Larry for years, and he can read me like a book. I’m just worried that I might let something slip. What if he finds out about Tony and the others?” Alpha Wade expressed his concerns.
Nelly grinned. “Old Alpha Morris knows you well, but he can’t read your mind. As long as you don’t mention the kids, no one will know about them.”
Alpha Wade took a deep breath. “I know that. It’s just hard to shake off this worry in my heart.”
As he looked up, he noticed a familiar face standing in front of him.
Alpha Kilian happened to be there, and both Nelly and Alpha Wade couldn’t help but feel guilty in his presence.
Alpha Kilian muttered something to end his phone call and then walked over to them.
“Old Mr. Jackson, it’s been a while,” Alpha Kilian greeted. He appeared calm, indicating that he hadn’t overheard anything.
“Mm,” Alpha Wade replied half-heartedly, his smile turning into a frown as soon as he saw Alpha Kilian. It was evident that the old man didn’t particularly like the young one.
Nelly, on the other hand, remained composed. She turned to Alpha Kilian and asked, “What are you doing here?”NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
Before Alpha Kilian could answer, someone opened the door to the private room from the other side, and Alpha Larry appeared. He internally cursed when he saw the young man standing there. D*mn it. I never expected him to sneak his way in here.
Alpha Larry completely ignored his grandson and said, “Nelly, come in, come in.”
“Alpha Larry, what’s going on here?” Alpha Wade immediately complained. He knew the situation well, so why did he allow Alpha Kilian to tag along?
Not wanting to put Alpha Larry in a difficult position, Alpha Kilian spoke up. “I’m actually here for work. I didn’t expect to run into you either.”
“Good, at least that punk isn’t completely useless,” Alpha Larry grinned and said, “We don’t need to care about him. Just ignore him and enjoy the meal together.” Then, he gestured for everyone to enter the room and shut the door in Alpha Kilian’s face.
Alpha Kilian stood there momentarily stunned before returning to his own table.
The dishes had already been served by the time he came back.
There was even a bottle of decanted red wine on the table. “Alpha Kilian, I heard that these dishes pair well with red wine. Let’s share a bottle today,” Lara suggested.
Alpha Kilian picked up the wineglass in front of him and downed its contents in one go.
“Take it easy. You should eat something too,” Lara advised.
Alpha Kilian’s mind was somewhere else entirely.
Inside the private room, the atmosphere was happy and peaceful.
Alpha Larry was attentive and had ordered dishes that he knew Alpha Kilian and Nelly would enjoy.
The two elderly men were always arguing, but it was their way of interacting with each other.
“Nelly, have a seat. I remember you liking these dishes, but I don’t know if your taste has changed. If these aren’t to your liking, feel free to order something else,” Alpha Larry warmly offered.
Nelly grinned. “Thank you, Old Alpha Morris. I love them.”
“I’m glad to hear that,” Alpha Larry replied before turning to Alpha Wade and frowning. “Stop frowning, Alpha Wade. I ordered the food you like too. Why do you always look at me like I’m a villain?”
Alpha Wade continued eating but maintained a scowl throughout.
“What’s wrong with you, old man? If you’re so unhappy, then stop eating,” Alpha Larry said, trying to move the table away.
