Engulfing Scent
Lily felt sad when Carmela withdrew the case, leading her sister to stay at home with Drew.
Danica had a surprise in store for Kael, who was about to move into the house next door; a gift from her father. She was thrilled because she would be the one to decorate and arrange it.
As some belongings arrived, she started arranging the furniture, which took about three hours. At six o’clock, she received a call from Kael. Peeking discreetly through the window of the upstairs room into the neighboring house, she spotted him undressed in his room.
She was taken aback by what she saw and couldn’t help but swallow hard as her gaze passed over his Adonis-like body. She hadn’t anticipated that he would simply remove his clothing.
Didn’t he realize that their neighbors might see him?
“Hello, lady! Have you had dinner yet?” the man inquired. This was a familiar occurrence for her. He often invited her to have dinner at his place.
Observing his current state, he was reaching for shorts from the cabinet, using a speaker, or possibly wearing a Bluetooth headset.
“Kael, I know it’s your own house, but have you considered that the neighbors might see you, right? Oh, oh! Please cover up!” she said. She shielded her eyes with her fingers, but she could still see his nudity.
“Are you some kind of stalker?” He glanced outside and noticed that the light was on in the house across the street-her house-was all bright.
She contemplated opening the terrace door and waved with a smile at him. “I’m here!”
She could tell that Kael was surprised. “Wow! There is a woman in my neighbor’s house. She’s attractive and currently peering at me. What should I do?”
Despite his complete nudity being blatantly visible, he even managed to flex his arms. At this point, she hoped Kael would see her as a beautiful woman and not just “cute.”
“Oh, my God! I’m the one feeling embarrassed for you! Please put your clothes on!” She chuckled at his playful remark.
“Come here, babe! I was just about to invite you for a meal,” he suggested.
Danica hastily exited her house and headed to Kael’s residence. She opened his gate, which reached up to her chest. The sound of the iron ticking loudly indicated her presence to the man. In just a matter of moments, the main door swung open, and he pulled her inside. He still wasn’t wearing any clothes.
The man lifted her, cradling her buttocks, while her arms were wrapped around his neck. His passionate kiss landed directly on her lips, causing everything else in her mind to fade away, enveloping her in the heat emanating from the core of her body. In the kitchen, he seated her on the island table and fervently kissed her neck.
The man’s hands glided from her neck, caressed her thighs, slipped beneath her panties, and rolled them down her hips. Unusual desire flickered in his eyes as he continued to kiss her.
This wasn’t the second time this had occurred between them. Consequently, it had become a regular part of their relationship, where they couldn’t keep their hands off each other when they were alone at his house.Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.
She was engulfed in love with him. They made love in that kitchen, on the couch, even in the shower area, and on his bed. It was already nine o’clock in the evening when they found themselves exhausted, growling in their stomachs. Kael had prepared a meal for her. He displayed surprising skills in various areas that Danica hadn’t expected.
He kissed her lips once more before they began to eat dinner.
“I enjoy your dishes, as always,” praised Danica.
“I used to work at my best friend’s bar during college. I’ll introduce you to him,” he replied before asking, “so, why are you there?”
“Surprisingly, that home is mine. My dad bought the house last year. He was supposed to give it to me once I graduated.”
His face brightened. “Wow! Really?”
“Yep!”
“That’s crazy!” he exclaimed.
“And I have news!”
“Uhm, you’re not pregnant, right?” She saw the concern on his face, which made her laugh.
“Kael, I’m not pregnant! Geez! I’m taking birth control pills. I don’t want to get pregnant just when I’m about to complete another semester. But why does it seem like you’re not ready?”
“Not really. It’s just that my family has certain traditions, you know. They believe it’s a sin for a child to be conceived before marriage,” he explained.
She laughed. “Really? Is that still a thing these days?”
“I don’t really mind, but I don’t want our future child to feel embarrassed,” he replied.
Danica smiled. His responses reassured her that Kael still desired to have a child with her.
“Moreover, I’m certain my mom and sister would be thrilled if you became pregnant,” he said with delight.
“Unlike my dad, who would definitely be angry!” she retorted.
“Oh, man!” He kissed her cheeks. “So, what’s the news?”
He received a call that interrupted their joyful evening. She noticed Kael’s furrowed brow and parted lips as if he were hesitant to answer the call.
Danica asked, “Who was it? Why didn’t you answer?”
“I’ll take this call.” She heard him mention Faye’s name when he answered it.

“Hello?” Kael answered Finn’s sister’s call.
“Kael…” He heard Faye’s sobbing on the other end while calling his name.
“What happened, Faye?” he asked with concern.
“I don’t know what to do, Kael.”
“Calm down and tell me what happened.”
Faye explained the situation. She had discovered her fiancé was involved in an intimate affair with another woman in America, even though they had already made plans to get married and more. Learning about this happening in another country had bewildered him. The last time he had seen the woman was in the office when she talked to Lily. He had been avoiding her, even though Lauren was angry with him that afternoon and had spent all his time with Danica.
He felt sorry for Faye, especially since he was part of her problems, and he felt guilty about it.
At that moment, he wasn’t sure how he would react.
“I need you, Kael…”
“It’d be better if you came back here, Faye. Lauren and Finn are here, as well as your mom. You have a family that can support you. I’ll pick you up at the airport if that’s what’s needed.”
“Can you please meet me in Hong Kong? I just want peace of mind, Kael, even if it’s just for a brief moment. If I go back, I won’t find solace there either. People were expecting me to be strong… Please…”
He felt sympathy for her. In truth, he was one of those who had high expectations of Faye as a strong woman, which is why her actions surprised him.
She continued, “Sister Lauren and Finn are dealing with a problem right now because their child is sick. I didn’t want to disrupt the couple, so I thought of you. I’ll provide the ticket.”
He glanced at Danica from where he was standing. The woman was busy washing their dishes, which brought a smile to his face. She had the power to lift his spirits at any time.
“Fine! I’ll come to you.”
He hung up after talking to Faye, and he sat on the bench, lost in thought. The dilemma was that he couldn’t determine if he still loved the woman. His emotions were in turmoil. While in deep thought, he received the ticket from the itinerary Faye had sent. Kael winced. At this point, he couldn’t really turn the woman down, especially considering that she had already spent money.
He returned to the kitchen, where he embraced Danica around the waist as she washed the dishes. He planted a kiss on her neck and savored her scent.
“Hey! I’m still working here,” she playfully said.
‘Ah, I really like this woman!’
“Unfortunately, we need to get some rest. I have an early morning flight to Hong Kong tomorrow.”
“Aw.” He noticed the young lady’s disappointment. She pouted, urging him to playfully bite those lips.
He invited Danica to sleep in his bed. As he inhaled her scent, he contemplated how he could assist Faye. In truth, he didn’t know what kind of help Faye was seeking from him. He closed his eyes, enveloped in Danica’s fragrance.
‘I’ll only be doing this as her family,’ he thought, but he never expected that his action would devastate Danica.
