Accidentally Married

Branch Fourteen

Jessica didn’t understand why Xavier would want to go out in this situation. The only logical thing she would do would be to hide out from the news and press till all is settled and they are talking about something new.

“Go put on something nice,” Xavier said again.

“I don’t feel like going anywhere,” Jessica said folding her arms.

“Yes, you are. You would stand up now and go put on something nice that would make every girl in the city jealous and you would meet me here and we would go out together” Xavier said.

His voice sounded very commanding. He was staring at her daring her to challenge him and not obey him.

“I will do no such thing,” Jessica said standing up and putting her foot down.

Who did he think he was? Who did he think he was to command her like that? Did he think she would just give up and obey him? He must be high on something.

“Oh yes you would,” Xavier said pulling her hands and making his way towards the staircase.

“What are you trying to pull?” Jessica asked in a scream.

“I have no intentions of leaving this house. I’m too emotionally drained to be going out”

“What’s wrong with you?” Xavier Barker at her dropping her hands and turning to face her.

As far as he was concerned she was being a very big stress to him. Why won’t she just obey and let him fix this? A public appearance would fix it all within a few minutes.

If the public sees them being all lovey-dovey outside the rumors would spread and the righteous Delgado’s name would stand strong back.

“There is nothing wrong with me and you wouldn’t shout at me again” Jessica barked back.

Xavier was startled that she shouted at him.

“Why are you being a jerk?” she shouted and pushed him out of the way and climbed up to her room.

She pushed the door and locked the door. She sat on the floor and tried to steady her breathing. Xavier was being such a mean person at the moment.

Yes, Delgado’s name was being dragged down but the person who was getting the worse of it all was Jessica. Everyone in town knows her as the gold digger ago forced her way into the family.

“Open up the door,” Xavier said rattling the door knob.

“Knick it down” Jessica yelled.

She was getting convinced that she did make a mistake approaching Xavier and getting married to him that day. Usually, those rich men in books and movies have a soft spot but Xavier was proving that this was no storybook or movie.

“Listen Jessica. If we go out in public it will put the news down and get the situation better” Xavier said more calmly this time around.

Jessica thought what he said through. That means they would have to act like they were in love and the paparazzi and gossip blogs would be picking up on the news naturally.

Jessica stood up and unlocked the door. She pulled it open and saw him standing there.

“Do you really think it’s a good idea?”

“Trust me” Xavier said with full confidence

“I’ll get ready and go out with you but only because I’m involved in this. And I hope you get ready to sleep out on the couch” Jessica said closing the door in his face.

She was definitely not going to allow this man to walk all over her. She was poor and married him on impulse but that did not mean that she should be treated like a low life. All he did all day was bark orders and yell at her like she was some dumb alien.

She quickly put on a short gown and took a jacket with her. She did a little makeup and came out. Xavier was waiting for her downstairs. When he saw how nice she looked his mind could not help but agree with his heart that said she looked stunning.

“Shall we? Or are you going to continue yelling at me?” Jessica asked standing I’m front of him.

She was going to be in defense around him from now on. He had proven that he was not fine husband material and Jessica could roll with it for a year. She just needed to always do what was best for herself.

“Let’s go,” Xavier said walking towards the door.

“We would drive ourselves,” Xavier said collecting the keys from the driver.

The driver didn’t know how to react but bowed and stepped back. Xavier entered the car and waited for Jessica to do so too. Jessica entered the car and Xavier started driving away.

“We would go to a restaurant. Have a lovely date and then go for a walk along the road before going home. That should be enough time for people to get pictures and videos of us”

“How romantic are we talking?” Jessica asked.

If she was going to act then she had to make sure to do it right.

“The type that makes you cringe and almost puke” Xavier answered and Jessica nodded.

Her phone began to ring, she pulled it out from her bag and saw that it was her aunt. She faced the phone down on her lap and began to look around uncomfortably.

“Why don’t you get that?” Xavier asked.

Jessica decided to ignore him. There was no need for her to explain the situation to her aunt with him.

“Or is it your secret boyfriend?” Xavier added.

“Stop it,” Jessica said with gritted teeth.

She saw Xavier as a man with few words. Why is he have so many words today?

“Why are you ignoring the call if you don’t feel guilty about taking it in front of me?” Xavier said pushing it.

Jessica was getting tired of it.

“You know very well that I was dumped on my wedding day and that was how I saved your company and got married to you. I would be stupid to go back to him” Jessica said anger rising in her voice.

“Then get it” Xavier said pushing forward.

He just wanted to know if Jessica would not cheat on him to turn into a good digger. He needed to finalize on the contract as soon as he could so he prevents her form mining any gold with him.

“I’m not getting” Jessica said in a shout.
