A Promising Youth

Chapter 7 Get down on Your Knees and Apologize!

Chapter 7 Get down on Your Knees and Apologize!

I felt I cannot linger any longer. I knew better than anyone what kind of this family was. They felt it right

to cheat me into prison and to dig coal, and now that I had offended then, what else did they not dare to

do?

Carrying the bag, I turned to leave, but my father held me in his arms from behind.

“You can leave, but put the bag down!”

I struggled, but he held me tightly. I said with clenching fists.

“Don't push me, Dad, Mom. I've repaid you for raising me by not suing you and breaking up the story of

how you put me in prison back in the day!

If you dare to stop me again, don't blame me for being cruel!”

As I said this, my father gave my mother a wink, and my mother immediately understood, threw herself

on the ground and hugged my legs, crying, and kept apologizing, saying that she was indeed ashamed

of me all these years.

If I still believed them, I'd be a fool. After four years of studying in prison, I'd learned to read people and

judge the situation. How could I not see such an obvious trap, when they wanted to stall for time and

wait for my brother to return?

And I probably had a good idea in my mind of exactly what they were going to do.

Taking a deep breath, I tilted my head and said.

“Ok, I'm not leaving, but if you guys do anything wrong to me again, then don't blame me!”

I went back to the table and reached into the bag. My brother's phone was in there. I pulled it out and

quietly sent a text under the table.

My father was smoking, with his face muscle twitched. I knew that he was afraid. According to their

plan, I would have been sent to the black coal mine today, not only for good, but also to earn money for

them, but at the moment, things had gone beyond his control.

And I concluded that they were going to get rid of me today, no matter what, and my brother went out

for that very thing.

A short time later, my brother returned. Though his eyes were full of ruthlessness, his face wore a false

smile as he hurried over, tapped me on the shoulder and said.

“We're all family, why all the fuss? Those things are yours. Take them if you want them. It's my way of

making it up to you.”

He was not that kind. Even a fool wouldn't believe such nonsense!

I picked up my tea and took a sip, and he added

“We've finished our meal and I've settled the bill, so let's go.”

“There's no rush. You guys have done eating, I have not yet.”

I picked up my chopsticks and deliberately stalled for time, glancing out the window out of the corner of

my eye. At some point, a large van was parked in front of the restaurant.

If I was right, the people in the car were the traffickers in the name of recruitment!

If I went down there at this point, I would be pushed into the van and taken away.

“Matteo, what the hell do you want? Are you really going to cut ties with us?”

My brother, red-eyed, educated me as an elder brother.

But I wasn't impressed and continued to eat my food unhurriedly.

“Brother, you still owe me an apology. Shouldn't you apologize about you studying in my college under

my name?”

He clenched his teeth fiercely, clenching his bowl-sized fist, but in the end, he did not dare to do

anything. After all, he was now to trick me to go downstairs and he did not dare to completely offend

me before he reached his goal.

“Okay, brother, I was wrong about what I had done before, I apologize to you!”

He grunted, insincerely.

“Are you the only one who's wrong?”

I squinted at my parents.

My father slammed his fist on the table, gritted his teeth and pointed at me, cursing.

“Son of a bitch.”

I said with my head turning away, sipping my tea.

“If you don’t apologize, I'll stay in this restaurant and work for them, wash the dishes!”

Hearing this, my brother was furious and punched my father on the shoulder and said through gritted

teeth.

“Don’t put on airs now! Apologize to him!”

My father shuddered in fear and gave my brother a coy look, before turning to me reluctantly and

grunting.

“Matteo, I am sorry, please forgive us.”

“No sincerity. You should be on your knees, kowtow three times, and then admit your mistake!”

I looked at them coldly and raised my hand again and said.

“You don’t have to do that, you are my parents after all, I'm afraid it will shorten my life. But Jemima, as

an elder brother, you grew up bullying and beating me, you need to get down on your knees!”

“You…”

He froze and looked like he was going to be unable to suppress the anger.

“Get down on your knees and kowtow!”

I looked at him coldly. It had to be such a ritual to wash away all the aggression I had suffered over the

years before my heart could be relieved.

And, Master was right that I should be brave to resist. The result would not turn out to be as scary as I

thought, like at this moment, I resisted and they were scared.

My brother, with big bloodshot eyes, grinned at me with unmistakable severity and said.

“Well, my dear brother, you've come a long way after five years in prison! I kneel down to you and

apologize to you!”

Once the words were said, he directly knelt down on both knees and kowtowed to me three times,

“Brother, I was wrong. I will never bully you again. Can you forgive me?”

Although he was apologizing, but in his tone, there was always an indescribable threat, as if, once I got

out of this hotel, he would crack my bones.

It had been over 10 minutes since I texted, and it was about time.

So I got up with my bag, patted my brother on the shoulder and said.

“I'm full, let's go.”

He immediately scrambled up from the ground, gritting his teeth.

He walked ahead.

I knew that they must hate me, and that they would never forgive me in the future once they have

succeeded in their plot!

But how could I let them get away with it?

Just we walked out of the hotel door, my brother immediately waved towards the van. The next

moment, the van came out five men rushing towards me. And my brother pulled my arm and directly

controlled me. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

“Brother, you're a bully and trying hard to sell me!”

I didn't struggle. I just found it ridiculous that I gave you a way to live, but you had to go down the road

to death.

My father was afraid that I would break free and helped my brother along by grabbing my clothes.

Those men rushed to me and locked my hands directly with the cuffs and shoved me towards the van

with unparalleled brutality.

But suddenly, sirens went off throughout the street, and several more plainclothes cops rushed right up

to the van and pulled me out of it while controlling the men in front of me.

There was a policeman behind him, who was holding a video camera, recording the scene that had just

taken place.

I texted to the police earlier, and the police in downtown would show up in less than ten minutes. How

could a bumpkin like my parents and a rube like my brother understand that this was now a legal

society?

This legal illiteracy still thought they were in the village and could do whatever they want to

me!
