Chapter 9
Title
“Kaoree Rogen, 18. I live along the Laguna De Bae”, I introduced myself to the class. After the introduction of my classmates, our professor introduced himself to us in our first subject. He grouped us for the task that he will give the next day then he left after the class ended. I sat watching my classmates get to know each other. They sounded like a bunch of bees because of the combined murmuring of them. Some guys behind me were noisy because they were playing ML. The loudest were the three women in front; I think I will call them mean girls. I think they are Beauticians of the class because they like make-up. They are so full of themselves like saying hey we’re the most beautiful ones here. Because they are not, I’m the most beautiful in our class.
Anyway, that doesn’t matter. Their laughter is what makes the whole room laugh. The leader of them is the oldest one, Sasha. She looks half Chinese, half garter. Of course, Just joking! (Chinese garter is a Pinoy Play of children). In fact, she looks half black American. She was beautiful because her eyelashes were fluffy but she looked different. A black American that is a Pilipino Version.
The one next to her was holding chalk. Vanna had a ponytail with straight dark hair. Her blush that she has on is thick and her lip tint was clearly visible from my seat because of the light coming from the open door.Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
The third was Drianne, she was sitting while laughing at what her friend was saying. She is beautiful too. Her straight black hair is darker and thicker. She was just chubbier compared to the two. I took my extra filler since no one wants to talk to me, I’ll just make the setting of the novel I’m writing.
In fact, I haven’t thought of a title yet.
I just drew a heart in the middle of my notebook. Jez texted me.
“Hey, when is your lunch break?”
I reply using my messenger. “11:30”.
He didn’t reply back so I went back to what I was doing. I drew five stick people below the heart.
I thought of adding a border for a better look. “Hi! What are you doing?”, I jumped in my seat because a stranger that’s a classmate made my a heart attack. My hand was quick to close my notebook.
“I saw what you’re doing before you closed”, she said then sat down next to me. My seatmate was both absent.
Someone who knew them said they were sick so they weren’t able to attend the class. I let out a short breath. “Don’t be shy”, she said again. She’s feeling close to me. “What is that for?” she said again.
“Nothing. I can’t do anything. You know, I only have free data so I can’t browse FB to see the pictures in my newsfeed and no one is talking to me. So, I decided to do this”, I explained in a plain tone. “Why aren’t you the first to approach our classmates?”
She doesn’t know that I’m not that type of person.
“They should be the ones being approached”.
She stopped laughing as she rubbed her forehead. “You know, I hope you’re okay. But what’s that for?”
“Actually, there’s really nothing. I’m thinking about the plot and title of the story I’m going to make” I played with my ballpen as I stared at her dejectedly. She took my notebook and examined it.
“Heart then there are five men … Hmm … I also can’t think of anything”, she said. She let out a deep breath then straightened up. “Let’s think about that later. Anyways, where do you live? It’s time for us to get into groups for our subject. Our house is just there” I feel that’s her purpose is to talk to me so we can get into our groups for our one subject. I thought she intentionally wanted pure friendship.
“It’s not really my house.” She nodded to my answer.
“Your aunt’s house?” she’s really talkative.
“No. I’m a maid of five men. Latrelle, Jez, Thaddeus, Wyn, and Marcus are their names. Maybe you don’t have to ask anymore because I’ve already answered them all?” I’m about to get annoyed with her.
“Thank you! I already thought of the title of your story!”, She shook both my arms. It was so tight that it was as if she felt no bones. “Heartthrobs in One Roof! do you like it?” I leaned over and thought for a few seconds. “I can help you with story plotting”, she seemed too cheerful. I just nodded because of her talkativeness. She stood beside me for a few hours. The seating arrangement in other subjects was not alphabetical so she did not leave my side.
Even though the teacher was talking, she was still blabbering on. I don’t think this one’s saliva is drying up.
She is really good in some of our subjects because I’m copying answers from her. She also mentioned that she was a silver medalist of her previous school. It seems to be true because she was already active on the first day of our school.
The bell rang after our last subject in the morning. One of my classmates, whom I did not know their name, approached me. “Are you Kaoree?” I nodded as he pointed at the door. One man seemed to be like a diamond because he’s shining, not only because of his uniform but also because of how he stood there. Melissa kissed me. “Your boyfriend!?”
“Don’t make an issue. Of course not. It’s Marcus” I stood up then clutched the bag behind my back. “Let’s have lunch with Jez”, he said. Melissa looked at Marcus especially the three mean girls. Melissa left stunned. I’ll talk to her later about the plot of my novel.
