Chapter 35
Chapter 35 Using Bianca to Threaten Her
When Natalie left the hospital, it was already three in the morning. She had spent several hours there.
She looked apologetically at Bianca and said, “I’m sorry, Bia.”
“Cut it out; you don’t have to say such things to me.”
Bianca didn’t care. She only wanted to help Natalie break free from Cedric as soon as possible. If this
continued, she was genuinely worried it might lead to a fatality. The people around Cedric were not to be underestimated, and Natalie had suffered countless hardships by his side over the years.
Now, the way those people were acting clearly indicated their intention to corner Natalie.
Bianca was also a smart person. After learning about the evidence, she understood that everything before
had been a trap set for Natalie.
That night, Natalie couldn’t find any peace.
Cedric wasn’t at peace in the hospital either, given Isabella’s eye infection. The doctors were actively treating her and recommended surgery to prevent further complications. However, they faced a problem with the source of the corneal tissue.
Yuvan tried to contact several places but didn’t make any progress. He kept encountering issues that he couldn’t solve.
In the end, the only option they had was a live donor. However, no matter how short of money a person was, they wouldn’t exchange their eyes for cash.
The next day, Rebecca was demanding to be discharged. Cedric was already overwhelmed with time constraints, and the situation only added to his stress.
The doctor said you need to be observed for three more days.”
“There’s no need for that I know my own b*dy well.”
Every patient said that. But in reality, could they know better than a doctor?
Cedric had a lot on his plate, and everyone else seemed intent on adding more.
That was when Christina casually asked, “How’s Isabella?
ked tension between Cedric and Rebecca.
Rebecca was even more upset when she thought of Natalie. “I never thought Natalie would be so wicked. I was really wrong about her before. She’s not worthy of being our family’s daughter–in–law.”
“Mom!” Cedric looked at Rebecca with a grave expression.
Such a look had been his reaction whenever Rebecca had treated Natalie poorly over the past few years. Now, seeing him look at her like this only infuriated her more.
“Do you see? That’s the woman you chose! I don’t know what you saw in her. Tina says she still hasn’t apologized to Isabella. Is that true?”
Even though Rebecca also disliked Isabella, she was a self–righteous woman. She was in firm belief that Natalie had committed a heinous act. Since the truth couldn’t be covered up, it was only right for Natalie
to apologize to Isabella, even if it was just a pretense.
Cedric was already upset about the whole situation.
Now, Rebecca’s anger against Natalie flamed his own anger.
Rebecca was unaware of the complexities of the situation and took the perspective of the previous
online harassers.
She angrily stated, “For doing such a malicious act, she should experience the consequences of blindness by losing her eyes and feel the result of her cruelty.”
Cedric already felt burdened by Natalie’s role in this situation. However, Rebecca continued to be ignorant about it and said, “Her cruelty aside, she remains unrepentant even as the truth is exposed. She thinks that she bears no responsibility as long as public opinion shifts. It’s only because our family is
protecting her. Otherwise, she’d already be in jail!”
Cedric’s mind was buzzing, and his thoughts became increasingly muddled.
He was overwhelmed by the phrases: unrepentant, cruel, eyes, and jail.
All these notions constantly bombarded his senses.
enough.
Sitting down at the breakfast table, she answered her uncle’s phone call. “Uncle.”
“Karina has arrived in Verde City. She’ll help you from now on.”
Karina Zeller?
During her three months abroad, Natalie had become well aware of Karina’s reputation in her uncle’s
company. Karina was known as a formidable character.
Natalie hadn’t expected Stephen to assign this person to help her.
She choked up a little, finding it hard to express her gratitude with words.
“Thank you, Uncle.”
“Hmph! We’ll show them that you aren’t someone who relied on your husband to survive! It was that man who begged you to be a full–time housewife!”
Natalie was moved by her uncle’s words, despite their unexpected nature.
Stephen was right.
Back then, she was an orphan, but she didn’t beg Cedric to support her. She excelled in many areas and would have easily found a job without Cedric’s help.
But how did Cedric put it back then?
“My wife doesn’t need to struggle for a living!”
Now, it was clear that it was a huge pitfall.
After marrying Cedric, many people accused her of marrying him for the Johnson family’s money. They repeatedly slandered her as if she was particularly interested in that wealth.
Now, she realized that she had been quite naive in her thinking at the time.
Rebecca saw that Natalie had no independent source of Income all these years and thought that Natalie couldn’t survive without Cedric. So, Rebecca felt she could manipulate her at will. That was why the older woman continuously insulted and humiliated her, believing Natalie would never leave him.
hastated to finish her breakfast and headed out. After getting into the car, she called Karina,
Karina had acted swiftly once she arrived in the city. On the phone, Karina said, “I just inspected the office and posted recruitment notices online. We should meet and discuss the details.”
“Great. Please send me the location.”
Natalie was astonished!
Stephen had informed her moments ago that Karina was coming to Verde City. And now, Karina had
already prepared the office and sent her the location.
So, there was definitely reasons why this woman was so successful!
Natalie hung up the phone, planning to navigate to the office. But just as she received the location from
Karina, Cedric’s call came in.
Since Natalie was not good with directions, she was naturally frustrated when he occupied her phone.
“I didn’t expect you’d have time to call me now,” she said, thinking that he must be catching up on sleep after the ordeal with Isabella last night.
On the other end of the phone, the man’s tone was devoid of warmth as he said, “I’m coming to find
His words were forceful, as though he was giving her a command.
In the past, Natalie had always assumed it was due to his protective nature that he sounded like this.
But hearing it now made her feel he was ridiculous.
“Talk to my lawyer if you have anything to say,” Natalie replied.
They were already at this point, and that was the only choice she was giving him!
“Bianca will be fired from her law firm today. Are you sure she’s still your lawyer?”
When Natalie heard this, her face turned pale, and her eyes widened.
Screech!
